1, I think we should choose the words of people we like to practice, otherwise it will be difficult to stick to the words we don't like to copy.

Before I went to college, I practiced printing letters in Si Mayan. I feel the same as you. I copied it beautifully, but I was still ugly when I wrote it myself. I will look better unless I write slowly. Si Mayan's handwriting is obvious. I wrote poster characters in college, which are beautiful, but not practical. If I take notes in class, no one will know these characters.

3. I recommend writing running script, because I have been practicing running script in college and gradually found that my handwriting is more vivid in the book than before. I don't know if you have this kind of trouble. Sometimes you can recognize a word, but when you write it together, it's messy and people don't want to read it. I think it will be more helpful to practice running script.

4. In fact, practicing calligraphy requires not only drawing on transparent paper, but also holding a blank notebook beside it. Trying to be as good as possible, I can't insist on this, because I practice calligraphy in part because I like to draw this feeling directly on paper. But I think it is very useful. You can sketch a few times, become proficient in the writing of this word, and then draw the words you think are not good at sketching a few times. Because many strokes in the running script need to be changed in order to write beautifully and smoothly.
