Kangle County, famous for its Lotus Mountain, is located in the south-central part of Gansu Province, at the southern end of Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture. It is located in the transition zone from the Loess Plateau to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with an average altitude of 2,000 meters, gentle terrain, a total area of ??1,093 square kilometers, and 340,000 acres of arable land. Kangle has a long history. It has been the "tea and horse trade" between Hui, Han and Tibet since ancient times. It was a fortress on the ancient Silk Road passing through Guanghe and Tonghe Prefecture, and it was also the gateway for economic exchanges among people of all ethnic groups in the northwest region. It currently governs 16 townships (towns), with 9 ethnic groups including Hui, Han, and Dongxiang, with a total population of more than 230,000, of which Han and Hui account for 43.7 and 52.8 respectively.

It is rich in recreational resources and has broad development prospects. Historically, it has been known as "Rouge, Three Rivers and Rice and Rice Rivers". Beef cattle and sheep fattening, broad bean production, forest fruit, rapeseed, and medicinal planting have become pillar industries in rural areas. In addition to Angelica sinensis and Codonopsis pilosula, there are more than 300 kinds of wild traditional Chinese medicine, and more than 1 million kilograms are collected annually. Seabuckthorn has more than 70,000 acres, with an annual output of more than 1,100 tons of fresh fruits. The annual output of bracken is more than 200 tons, with bracken, Wolongtou, Wild vegetables such as bitter shepherd's purse and antlers have been processed into green foods and sold well all over the country.

There are many tree species in Kangle. There are more than 200 species of pine, cypress, poplar, willow, and birch, and nearly 100 species of animals including leopard, lynx, deer, and musk deer. There are more than 60 kinds of rare birds, including orchids, eagles, geese, etc. In 1975 and 1984, it was twice rated as an advanced county for afforestation in the country by the State Council. In recent years, Kangle has seized the historical opportunity of the development of the western region and adopted measures such as returning farmland to forest (grassland) and afforestation of barren hills to green the barren hills, beautify homes, and create a new and beautiful Kangle. At present, the forest coverage rate has reached 24.6, which is higher than the provincial and even national average. Kangle County has been listed as a national pilot county for returning farmland to forest (grassland), a national comprehensive ecological management county, and a natural protection project implementation county.

Since the reform and opening up, under the guidance of the party’s policy of enriching the people, Kangle County’s economic and social undertakings have made great progress. Especially in recent years, the county has based on its advantages, focused on characteristics, and settled on the market. Focusing on "enriching the people with forests, livestock, medicinal vegetables, and revitalizing the county through science, education, industry, and trade, the county has developed two industries and three rivers (two industries: tourism, green industry; three rivers: rouge and three rivers). With the idea of ??"building a strong county with a green economy", we constantly adjust the industrial structure, continuously strengthen infrastructure construction, and strengthen the secondary and tertiary industries, so that the county's economy and society have developed to a certain extent. By the end of 2003, the county's total agricultural output value reached 251 million yuan, an increase of 46.6% over 2000, with an average annual increase of 11.65%; fiscal revenue increased from 9.79 million yuan in 2000 to 15.77 million yuan, an increase of 62.1%, with an average annual increase of 15.5%. The trade volume of urban and rural markets reached 34.996 million yuan, and the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 89.09 million yuan, an increase of 64.9% over 2000. The county's deposit balance reached 252 million yuan, and total loans reached 316 million yuan. Increases of 69.1 and 80.4 respectively compared with 2000.

After the implementation of the Western Development Strategy, Kangle formulated measures and introduced preferential policies to strive to become a strong grass and livestock county, a major forestry county, a major tourism county, and a major seabuckthorn planting county in the province. More than 30 investment promotion projects have been signed by the China Business Association and the Rural Enterprise Association. In 2001, the county was designated as a national county open to the outside world. From 2002 to 2003, it was awarded the honorary title of “Advanced County for Land Green in the Province” by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government for two consecutive years. At present, Kangle Street is all hardened and widened, and the transportation, communication and service systems are relatively complete, making it an ideal environment for investment and development.
