Cai E's former residence can be divided into two parts, one is a parking lot, about 20 meters long and 20 meters wide, and the other is a yellow lawn floor. Part of it is the former residence and exhibition hall, covering an area of about 4 mu, of which the construction area is about 300 square meters. The former residence faces north, and the east side faces east and west. There is a two-story exhibition hall, and there is a dense grove behind the former residence and exhibition hall. There is a one-meter wide gravel road in front of the former residence, and there are sparse citrus trees in the rest of the open space. The former residence is an adobe bungalow with three bedrooms in the front and a kitchen in the east. Sun Caixin, the eldest son of General Cai E, attended the ceremony with a total investment of about one billion yuan. Cai E Mansion is located in Huilong Street, Shanmen Town, Dongkou County, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, on the north bank of Huangnijiang River and at the foot of Shanxi in Yun Xiu. Originally "Wu 'an Palace", it was built in Kangxi 2 1 (1682) in Qing Dynasty. Cai E spent most of his boyhood in Shanmen Town, Dongkou County. Cai E was a famous democratic revolutionist and outstanding strategist in modern China.

Cai E House, with brick and wood structure, faces northeast and southwest, with five rooms wide and two rooms deep, with an area of 1.300 square meters.

The first archway was built together with the theater, with brick doors on the front, lime plastering, overlapping eaves and meticulous painting. The inscription on the gate reads "A master of writing and performing martial arts, who protected the country and defeated Yuan Yiwei". Above the door, the four characters "Cai E House" are embossed in regular script.

The archway is divided into two floors, one on the left is Cai E's bedroom and study, the other is Cai E's parents' bedroom, and the second on the right is Cai's workshop for steaming wine to make tofu. The theater was burnt down on 1945. The original second building was an auditorium, and later a two-story building was built, with a wooden structure.

The third entrance is the main temple, which contains a statue of Prince Cai. The roof is a hard mountain with a single eaves and small green tiles. 1997 was announced as a patriotic education base in Hunan province, and it is a provincial key cultural relics protection unit.

In 2003, the management committee of Cai E Mansion invested 6.5438+0 million yuan to completely renovate the interior and exterior of the Mansion, and collected a batch of household appliances used by Cai E before his death. At the same time, the private school where Cai E studied as a child (now Songpo Primary School) and the tomb of Cai E's parents have also been repaired.

On May 25th, 2006, Cai E's former residence, mansion and tomb were approved by the State Council to be included in the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In the late period of the national defense war, General Cai E suffered from throat disease for a long time and could not pronounce. He had to deal with military affairs with a pen instead of his mouth and rest on a fishing boat in Yongning River near Xupengxi, where the headquarters of the National Defence Force is located. By the Yongning River, there are bamboos on both sides, rock walls stand, and mountains and rivers remain unchanged, one after another. General Cai E wrote the words "Protecting the Country Rock", and wrote the inscription and preface of "Protecting the Country Rock", and ordered people to engrave it on the cliff beside the Yongning River as a permanent memorial.

Wu, a famous Sichuan poet, praised in his long poem "Poems on Protecting the Country Rock": "Protecting the country rock and the country army, the Iraqi people made a long March that day and won a bloody battle in May. It was a complete pain! Unfortunately, Iraqis are lucky and enjoy the name of protecting the country. " This poem "protecting the country" was selected into the middle school Chinese textbook in the 1940s, and it was widely read, so the reputation of protecting the country was widely circulated. 199 1 year, the inscription on Huguoyan was listed as a key protected cultural relic by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government.
