I often say white tea. Today I will talk about how white tea is grown.

White tea is a kind of micro-fermented tea, which is a traditional famous tea created by tea farmers in China. One of the six famous teas in China. It refers to a kind of tea that is picked and processed only by sun drying or slow fire drying without fixing and twisting. It has the quality characteristics of complete appearance buds, full hair, fresh and tender Qing Xiang, clear yellow-green soup color and light sweet taste. It belongs to micro-fermented tea and is a wonderful flower in China tea. Because its finished tea is mostly bud head, full of white hair and silver as snow, it is named. The main producing areas are Fuding, Zhenghe, Songxi, Jianyang and Jinggu in Yunnan. The basic technology includes withering, baking (or drying in the shade), picking and blending. The main technology of Yunnan white tea is sun-drying, and the advantage of sun-drying green tea is that the taste maintains the original fragrance of tea. Withering is the key process to form the quality of white tea.

field

To build a white tea garden, we should choose a gentle slope with deep soil layer and shelter from the wind and sun. The depth of the whole soil layer is required to reach 0.8 ~ 1.0m, the loose soil layer is required to be about 0.5m, the underground water level is required to be low, and the garden with good ventilation and fertilizer conservation is required. It is best to use acidic mountain yellow soil, sandy yellow soil and red yellow loam. Generally, it is better to face north on the slope.

Digging and fertilizing

The soil for planting white tea should be ploughed to a depth of 0.45 ~ 0.50 meters, and drainage ditches should be opened around to level the land. Then apply 150 ~ 200kg cake fertilizer and 20 ~ 25kg potassium sulfate compound fertilizer as base fertilizer per mu (the number of special compound fertilizers for tea is doubled). It is required that the root system cannot directly contact the fertilizer when transplanting, so as to avoid the fertilizer damaging the root system and affecting the survival of tea seedlings.

Planting specification

Generally, single-row strip planting is adopted, with row spacing 1.33m and cluster spacing of 0.33m, and 2-3 tea seedlings are planted in each cluster.

Transplant time

Generally, the first ten days of March or 10 is appropriate.

Planting technique

When transplanting and planting tea seedlings, it is necessary to open transplanting ditches or planting holes according to the spacing between rows and clumps determined by planting specifications, and it is best to open the seeds now to keep the soil in the ditches (holes) moist. The root distribution of white tea seedlings is shallow, so it is advisable to plant them deeply and generally bury them at the root neck. When planting, hold straight tea seedlings in one hand and fill the ditch (hole) with the other hand. Cover the soil until the fibrous roots are not exposed, then gently lift the seedlings by hand, so that the roots of tea seedlings naturally extend and are closely connected with the soil, then pour enough root-fixing water, then spread straw on both sides of the tea row, and then cover the straw with soil between rows, which is helpful to maintain soil moisture and ground temperature. At the same time, we should do a good job in drought resistance, antifreeze and replanting without plants to ensure that the seedlings are full of Miao Zhuang.

control of insect

In order to improve the whiteness of white tea, basal fertilizer should be applied in late autumn and early winter, and nitrogen fertilizer should be applied thinly before spring tea and during summer and autumn tea. Biological, agricultural and comprehensive control methods should be adopted for pest control in white tea garden, and pesticides are generally not sprayed.

Pruning and picking

The shaping and light pruning methods of white tea garden are the same as those of conventional tea garden. In picking, we should keep more and harvest less at a young age to cultivate high-yield crowns.
