What is the central idea of "dialogue between seedlings and trees"?
This article is an interview with a famous scholar Ji Xianlin by a primary school student, and it is also the first style that students come into contact with. Young and old, one is a respected and accomplished scholar, and the other is a primary school student who has just started studying. They have a huge gap in age, experience and knowledge, but in an equal and harmonious atmosphere, they gradually communicate in depth in reading.
Ji Lao pointed out: to write a good article, you must read more books; Efforts should be made to cultivate talents who are well versed in Chinese and Western cultures, ancient and modern cultures and arts. Therefore, we should learn foreign languages well and accumulate ancient poems. These not only benefit Xin Wei, but also inspire readers. In their conversation, you can feel Xin Wei's childishness and politeness, and you can also feel Ji Lao's cordial humor and approachability, as well as his ardent hope and deep concern for the next generation.
Second, the main content of "dialogue between seedlings and trees"
This paper narrates the dialogue between the author Xin Wei and Ji Xianlin, a famous scholar in Peking University, about reading.
Time:1999 August 2 1.
Venue: Ji Xianlin, a famous scholar in Peking University.
Ji Xianlin: Xin Wei, now that you are the interviewer and I am the interviewee, can you ask me and answer?
Xin Wei: OK.
Ji Xianlin: Then feel free to ask.
Xin Wei: Grandpa, when I was young, you said that when you were young, you were most interested in reading leisure books. You like reading Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and you can remember the names of fugitives. Grandpa, I'm just like you. I like reading leisure books best. Once in math class, I looked down at the Water Margin. While watching, I recited the 100 list and the seats of eight generals. The teacher found out. My father hit me for the first time after he found out. Although it doesn't hurt at all, I have never seen Water Margin again.
Ji Xianlin: (Laughter) My parents were away when I was a child, and my uncle didn't care much about me, but I wasn't allowed to read casual books. What do we do? We don't go home after school, and we secretly hide in a place to read idle books. I read a lot of light books, including Gong Peng Case, Biography of the Duke of Ji, Shi Gong Case and Three Heroes and Five Righteousnesses. I advocate reading leisure books. Why? Tell me, Xin Wei, how can I write this article well?
Xin Wei: I think we should thank the truth.
Ji Xianlin: Well, tell me again, technically, how can I write fluently?
Xin Wei: I need to read more extracurricular books.
Ji Xianlin: That's right. Writer Lu Xun once said that the most reliable thing to write a good article is to read more books. I watched it with a sister when I was a child. There is a big bucket of white flour under the table at home. When my uncle came, I quickly hid the idle books in the vat. On the table, there are all classes. (Laughter)
Xin Wei: Grandpa, I like Chinese, but I'm not good at math.
Ji Xianlin: It's good to like Chinese, but Chinese is better and math is better. Young people in 2 1 century should be literate and rational. So, whether you like it or not, you must learn math well. Recently, a class was held in Tsinghua University, and all the students were excellent students. It is proposed to cultivate talents who are well versed in Chinese and western cultures, ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign. In my opinion, these two links are not enough, and a link between arts and sciences should be added. Three links, this is the youth of 2 1 century.
Xin Wei: Chinese and western, ancient and modern, arts and sciences, I remember. Grandpa, someone told my mother to find me a good foreign language teacher as soon as possible. She said that it is never cold to learn a foreign language at the age of 12. Grandpa, you speak so many foreign languages. Do you think they are right?
Ji Xianlin: Not necessarily 12 years old. Of course, learning early is better than learning late. Learning the pronunciation of a foreign language has a lot to do with the mother tongue. People in some places have too strong accents to learn. Ancient prose is also very important. In my opinion, it is the minimum requirement for a child to write 200 poems and 50 ancient prose on horseback. A book was recently published to encourage children to recite poems. Let me make a suggestion. We should publish another collection of essays, select some from the viewpoints of China's ancient literature, and add some notes. I recited it when I was a child and I can't forget it.
Xin Wei: Recite 200 poems and 50 ancient prose!
Ji Xianlin: (Laughter) I don't want you to recite it all day.
