First of all, let’s observe the appearance with the naked eye. The front bumper is not only painted, but the spare parts are not assembled properly. There are many problems in the details. The daytime running light frame and the front bumper are not fastened in place, and the fenders and the front bumper are not in place. The gap between the bars is too large. Either it was disassembled but not installed properly, or the later replacement parts were of inappropriate size. Let’s take out the professional equipment and see what happens.

You can see that the front hood is spray-painted; the left front fender is spray-painted; the paint value of the left front door is normal; but the left rear fender is spray-painted. Then the value of the back cover was obviously low, only 103 microns. The overall average paint value of this car is more than 200 microns. In addition, the obvious flaws on the edge of the back cover can be seen to be bare metal. The gap is also too large, so I decided to replace the back cover. Since the rear back cover has been replaced, it is not difficult to explain that the left rear fender has been spray-painted. In addition, if the rear back cover has been replaced, there may be other damage, such as: rear apron, rear bumper, etc. But we have to confirm the specific situation step by step.

Looking at it, the rear bumper is indeed painted, but the spray paint on the rear bumper does not indicate any problem. The interior needs to be inspected later. Let’s take a look at the situation on the right side first.

The inspection found that the paint surface of the right rear fender was normal; the paint surface of the right rear door was normal; the sheet metal of the front right door was spray painted; and the right front fender was spray painted. Generally speaking, the main damage is to the right front leaf and the right front door sheet metal spray paint. The damage is relatively consistent and should be caused at one time. However, for this car, it is not a big problem. It is 8 years old and no one who drives the car has a bump or bump. As long as it doesn't damage the body structure, it's OK.

Next, it was detected that the production date of the front windshield was inconsistent with all the glass of the original car, and it had been replaced.

After inspecting the appearance of the paint, my personal prediction is that the condition of this car may not be upright, and there may be some collision accidents. The cabin layout is relatively compact and full of Volkswagen’s unique style. The powertrain of this Volkswagen Scirocco R is the same as that of the Golf R: a 2.0T engine with a maximum horsepower of 256 and a maximum torque of 330N·M. It is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox and has a measured acceleration time of 100 kilometers per hour in 5.81 seconds. Although it has the same power as the high R, the high R accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers in a measured 5.46 seconds. The Scirocco R is just slower than the high R. Are you angry? This cabin looks like a car dealership at first glance, and it is clean and tidy. Although it looks beautiful and neat, it is pleasing to the eye, but it will hide some of the original condition of the vehicle. Most people buy cars. I couldn't tell much at first, but as a professional second-hand car inspector, I couldn't help but check it out right away.

First of all, you can see that the screws of the front cover have been removed and painted, and the hinges are misaligned. After comparing with the car body, it can be determined whether the front cover and hinges should be replaced.

However, the shock absorbers on the left and right sides of the front are intact and have not been deformed or repaired, indicating that the shock absorbers were not damaged by the front collision.

However, the left and right headlights need to be replaced, and the back covers behind the left and right headlights are missing. It is possible that the replacement sub-factory parts do not have back covers. This may lead to problems such as water intrusion later, or water mist evaporating on rainy days causing headlights to fog up.

It was later detected that the beam of the front water tank frame assembly was deformed, and the production date on the accessory trim panel could be seen as May 2019, proving that there was indeed a front collision.

Fortunately, the rear fan cover has not been replaced, but the damage can be clearly seen. Is the repair cost tight? This also proves that the collision is still relatively heavy, otherwise the rear fan cover will not be damaged. Fortunately, the beam is intact and there is no deformation or repair!

Summary: Comprehensive inspection and analysis of the current front part can be summarized as follows: front collision leads to replacement of the front hood and hinges, replacement of the headlights, replacement of the front bumper and accessories, replacement and deformation of the front water tank frame part (not yet Repair), left rear fender repair. Is this a bit different from the peak condition the seller said? I'd better continue to inspect the engine part.

The engine cover does not have the seller's permission, so it is inconvenient for me to dismantle it with a sledgehammer. From the side, you can see that although the valve cover screws have not been removed, you can see that the oil leakage is serious; the intake pipe screws have not been removed; the engine screws are also intact; and the engine foot screws are intact. So far, the engine looks fine and there are no major problems. Could it be that when the seller said the car was in peak condition, he meant the condition of the engine? Next, check the oil and water in the entire vehicle. Don't underestimate these things. They can also reflect the condition of the engine and even the vehicle, but this also requires the support of a lot of professional knowledge and experience.

You can see that there are no oil splashes or scale on the antifreeze liquid level; however, when you open the engine oil filling port, you can see an emulsification phenomenon. This may also be caused by long-term parking or idling, or even cleaning of the engine room. Later, If you want to buy it, it is recommended to change the engine oil immediately; the water content of the brake oil is normal, but the sledgehammer test found that there is a lot of dirt, so it is recommended to replace it; the battery has been replaced and can be used now. Generally speaking, there is no big problem with this part. Later maintenance can be done to replace the oil and water.

The next step is to inspect the interior. To be honest, the interiors of the 11 models are not outdated at all. This is also due to Volkswagen's strong design skills. The most important thing is that the interior has not been updated for ten years! However, it is said that the eighth-generation Golf to be released will use the latest design language. We can wait and see. Let’s see if there are any problems with the interior of this Scirocco R.

First of all, it was detected that the seat screws have not been removed; the steering wheel column is intact without rust; the seat frame is intact at low speeds without rust and the sponge has no water erosion; although the cigarette lighter has traces of use, there is no rust or sediment . It can be ruled out that the vehicle has blisters.

However, the seat wear and steering wheel wear are relatively large, which is obviously inconsistent with the vehicle's display of more than 70,000 kilometers. My current mileage should be around 150,000 kilometers. Let's see what can be done later. Check if you can read the gearbox mileage. Because the back cover has been replaced, let's take a look at the trunk. This is the key point to inspect the inside.

You can see that the screws of the back cover have been removed, but they were painted later. The gutter on the left side has also been repaired and painted. .

And you can clearly see that there are traces of replacement on the rear panel, there is sealant applied later on the bottom, and there are obvious solder joints on the upper part. But it's done well, and it's even painted to prevent rust. Comprehensive judgment and analysis of other current rear conditions: rear collision resulted in replacement of the back cover, replacement of the rear apron, replacement of the rear bumper, repair and painting of the left gutter, replacement of the left rear outer taillight, and sheet metal of the left rear fender. Fortunately, the C-pillar and the left and right rear beams were not damaged. It will have no impact on the safety of the vehicle in the future, but it will also have an impact on the price, so it makes sense that the car is quoted so cheaply.

Next, perform functional testing and OBD code reading inspection. You can see that the current mileage displayed on the meter is 75,000 kilometers.

It was detected that the right front daytime running light was damaged and the sunroof sunshade was damaged, but the other functions were normal.

When reading the OBD fault code, it was read that the transmission mileage was 165,858 kilometers, and the meter showed only 75,000. The customer said: I care most about the engine, transmission, frame, and chassis.
