Reggie lee was born in Quezon, the eldest of three sons. He can speak English, Cantonese and his mother tongue-Tagalog (dialect of Luzon and Mindanao in the Philippines). As a child, Reggie moved to Cleveland, Ohio with her parents and family, where she completed her high school education.

1990, Li started the national tour of musicals Heartstrings and Miss Saigon in Los Angeles, and won the Tony Award for the musical Carousel. With his great success on the stage, Broadway finally invited him. 1997, Li won the drama criticism award for his performance in the musical F.O.B produced by East and West Players Company, and he also starred in another work of the company, Carrying Tigers Up the Mountain.

After his success on the stage, the TV screen became Ang Lee's next goal. In the past ten years, he has appeared in dozens of TV plays. Reggie lee has been getting closer and closer to his success on the big screen since he successfully played cold-blooded killer Nguyen in a snakeskin coat and riding a motorcycle in Universal Pictures' box office blockbuster The Fast and the Furious. Recently, he has just finished filming the highly anticipated Pirates of the Caribbean: The End of the World. Reggie Lee played an important role in the third installment of Disney's unprecedented Pirate Series.

Outside the camera, Li is an avid sports fan. Whether it is competitive tennis or hiking, he loves all kinds of sports and fitness very much. This enthusiasm made him look forward to meeting an equal opponent in filming. "I can recognize a beautiful right hook when I meet such a person." Li remembered a scene between The Fast and the Furious and michelle rodriguez, who knocked him down with one punch. That's a beautiful right hook.
