Buddhism and Psychology (13) - All living beings are suffering, be compassionate (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

1. All living beings are suffering, be compassionate

People have to eat, drink, poop and sleep every day, which reminds us to be tolerant and compassionate. Eating makes me understand that everyone has an innate desire to understand and sympathize with; drinking makes me understand that the tenderness in the mouth of the cup is also the need of others; having diarrhea reminds me that I am also dirty and should be less self-conscious. Pity the arrogant and noble; sleep, tell me to cherish myself, allow my own weakness at the appropriate time, be considerate of the fragility of others, and be kind to myself and others.

After living for so many years, I found that the biggest gain is to understand the word "tolerance". I dare not and cannot talk about any Buddhist compassion that I have, because that compassion must be experienced through all the five flavors of the human world before I can be qualified to mention it. But every time I was hurt or slandered by others, when I raised my eyebrows and gritted my teeth, a trace of sadness suddenly appeared in my heart. Sad for myself, sad for those who hurt me.

We gradually understand that the complexity and twists and turns of life are far beyond imagination, just as the richness and delicacy of emotions are far beyond the control of one person. Therefore, put away the habit of making evaluations and conclusions easily, and treat the people and things around you with compassion far more important than understanding.

Twist a smiling flower and think about the changes in the world, and it doesn’t matter whether you win or lose in the end; day and night wax and wane, wealth and nobility never last forever, the face this morning is older than last night; put a smile between your eyebrows The word is wide, looking at a piece of human scenery, who does not taste the joy and sorrow; the sea is endless, the grievances are difficult to calculate, yesterday should not be forgotten today.

2. My Buddha is compassionate

Compassion: giving peace and happiness to all living beings with love and care;

Compassion: relieving the suffering of all living beings with compassion;

Compassion: saving people from suffering.

Buddha is Sanskrit, which means enlightenment and omniscience.

My Buddha is compassionate, which means that when I am completely omniscient and aware of all the ins and outs of the world, I will instinctively be compassionate to everything.

After being compassionate, you will naturally give everything with joy.

These are the Buddha’s four immeasurable hearts of “compassion, joy, and equanimity.”

The compassion of my Buddha is also the compassion of my heart.

The mind-nature of all living beings is the Buddha-nature, endowed with compassion and wisdom.

Because sentient beings are confused and confused, and their own karma blocks the brilliance of Buddha nature. If all sentient beings can reveal their Buddha nature through practice and demonstrate the nature of great kindness and compassion, it is the mercy of our Buddha.

Buddha fled from the palace to the deep forest in order to seek relief from the pain and troubles of life.

Buddha’s original intention was not to leave home to practice for the sake of his own pain and troubles, but to practice for the liberation of the pain and troubles of others and all sentient beings.

Then why am I, the Buddha, compassionate?

This brings us to the previous sentence: "All living beings suffer." All living beings have all kinds of suffering, which is difficult to escape. Among them, all living beings have birth, old age, illness, death, and the inability to seek what they want. Love is separated, the five yins are blazing and the eight sufferings arise.

Only those who are enlightened can understand that all living beings (including themselves) live in this world, but they are just enjoying themselves in suffering, and their dreams are shattered in an instant.

Few people can truly be liberated from these eight sufferings, so I, the Buddha, am merciful and come to save all living beings. Then you must be asking why there is so much suffering in the world, and when will we be able to be liberated?

The Buddha rescued the predestined people. What is a predestined person? A predestined person means one who is willing to work hard. The Buddha practiced hard for many years before he was liberated. Naturally, we ordinary people must also work hard.

Be kind, only in this way can you gain liberation. "All conditioned dharmas are like the shadows of a dream, like dew or electricity. You should observe them like this."

3. There are three thousand weak waters. , just take a scoop and drink it

The medicine is not expensive or cheap, it is mainly symptomatic. All living beings have different illnesses, and no method can cure all illnesses. Faith is the mother of merit and virtue, and the method with faith is the appropriate method. The prerequisite is Dharma.

The Buddha asked a person under the Bodhi tree: In the eyes of the world, you are rich, powerful, and have a wife who loves you, why are you not happy?

This person Answer: Because of this, I don’t know how to choose?

Buddha smiled and said: Let me tell you a story.

One day, a tourist was about to die of thirst. Buddha took pity on him and placed a lake in front of him, but he didn't get a drop of water into it. Buddha was very surprised and asked why.

Answer: There is a lot of water in the lake, and my belly is so small. Since I can’t drink it all in one breath, it’s better not to drink it at all.

The Buddha showed a bright smile and said to the unhappy person: "Remember, you may encounter many beautiful things in your life, but as long as you grasp one of them carefully, you will be happy." It’s enough. There are three thousand pieces of water, just take a spoonful to drink.”

There are not many things that people really need in life. No matter how much glory and wealth they have, in the end they are just a piece of clothing for others. , a bed, three simple meals a day, a book, and a close friend should make us feel particularly happy.

Life is so short. When we really wake up from the crazy and exhausting acquisition, we find that the good years have passed from our hands.

Life is a kind of destiny. Sometimes what you pursue deliberately may not be obtained in your life, but the brilliance you did not expect will come unexpectedly in your indifference and calmness...

There are three realms in life - mountains are still mountains and water is water; mountains are not mountains and water is not water; mountains are still mountains and water is still water.

A person is pure and innocent at the beginning of his life. When he first knows the world, everything is new. Whatever his eyes see is what he sees. When someone tells him it is a mountain, he knows the mountain and tells him it is water. , he got to know water.

As you get older and experience more and more things in the world, you will naturally discover the problems in this world.

There are more and more problems in this world, and they are becoming more and more complex. They often reverse black and white, confusion between right and wrong, "walking" all over the world without reason, making it difficult to move without reason, good people are not rewarded, and evil people bring disaster for thousands of years. Entering this stage, the mood is passionate, uneven, worried, questioning, vigilant, and complicated.

People are no longer willing to believe anything easily. At this time, people look at the mountains with emotion, look at the water and sigh. Mountains are no longer just mountains, and water is no longer just water.

Everything is the carrier of human subjective will. The so-called good wind sends me to the blue clouds by force.

If you stay at this stage of your life, you will suffer this life. People know how high this mountain is, keep climbing, are competitive, compare with others, how to behave, how to deal with the world, racking their brains, exhausting all their mechanisms, and never being satisfied.

Many people reach the end of their lives when they reach the second realm of life. After a lifetime of pursuit, a lifetime of hard work, a lifetime of arrogance and arrogance, in the end I found that I had not achieved my ideals, so I held grudges for the rest of my life.

But some people have finally elevated themselves to the third realm of life through their sincere cultivation. A sudden enlightenment and return to nature.

At this time, people will concentrate on doing what they should do and not care about others.

Let the world of mortals roll around, and there will be a clear breeze and bright moon. In the face of complicated worldly things, just laugh it off and let it go.

People at this time see mountains as mountains and water as water.

Human beings are human beings, and there is no need to deliberately be a human being; the world is the world, and there is no need to carefully conduct oneself in the world; that is how one truly lives and behaves in the world.
