How to remember English words in IELTS test?
Put unfamiliar and uncommon words into sentences in a certain language environment and remember the words according to the meaning of the sentences. If you forget the meaning of a word, you can remember it by recalling the meaning of a sentence.
Mastering vocabulary in this way is not only conducive to memorizing the spelling of words themselves, but also familiar with the meaning, part of speech, usage and collocation of words, which is better than memorizing words in isolation.
2. Similar memory
Collect similar words and remember them. Please note that similar words are different from synonyms: synonyms mean the same meaning, while similar words refer to words with the same basic attributes but different levels, grades or specific meaning ranges.
If you put similar words together and remember them, you will naturally think of a group when you meet one of them, which greatly improves the efficiency.
3. Contrast memory
Comparison of homophonic words. For example, right writing, eye -I, meat-meat, etc.
Comparison between simple numbers and complex numbers. Such as wood.
The same word is out of proportion. Such as bear, bill and so on.
4. Word formation memory
(1) transformation, that is, from one part of speech to another. Like watering.
(2) Derivation refers to the generation of another word with a prefix or suffix.
(3) Synthesis: Two or more words are combined into one word.
This method can memorize a series of words with different parts of speech or the same basic meaning but opposite meanings at the same time, so that the meanings and parts of speech of different words are not easily confused.
5. Root storage
Replacing polysemous word memory with root meaning can solve the problem that there are no new words but they are always unreadable.
6. Visual memory
Image memory is because it turns the original mechanical memory into logical memory through image association, thus getting rid of rote memorization.
There are many kinds of image memory of IELTS words, and homophonic image memory should be widely used, which is to understand some knowledge according to other familiar homophonic languages and make it vivid and interesting. So for learners whose mother tongue is Chinese, of course, it is Chinese characters. Homophonic memorization usually has unexpected effects. For example, ache means that a car accident is painful.
7. Card memory
Make your own word cards and write down the form, part of speech, meaning, phonetic symbols, collocation, example sentences, etc. And carry it with you for easy memory. You can arrange them in alphabetical order and remember a few every day.
8. Scene memory
There are many scenes in the IELTS test, and the scenes will involve some specific scene words. If you remember according to the scene, it will be relatively less boring and more targeted.
