Road strategies and routes around Danjiangkou Reservoir

Danjiangkou Reservoir is a very popular route on recent road trips. Great for motorcycle riding and biking, and also suitable for dirt bikes. Of course, there are many scenic spots along the way that are worthy of taking photos. Let’s introduce it in detail below.

The middle of Fengtu Road is not repaired, so you can walk on it. Entering Longshan Town, you can visit Longshan Tower, take Gengjiaya Bridge, and enter Huanku Road towards Danjiang. There are 21 bridges along the river (it seems there are so many bridges) and the scenery is pleasant. Qiandao Lake with clear water and blue sky is beautiful.

There are several alternatives, Wuyuan, Yichang, Enshi, and Danjiangkou. I went to the first few places. Thinking of more than eleven people, I chose the route around Danjiangkou Reservoir.

I have been to some places before by bike, car and foot, so I should have a lot of experience on the road. But before setting off, I made some preparations and checked some routes around Danjiangkou.

Introduction to the trip to Danjiangkou

The Danjiangkou Ring-Reservoir Highway consists of 16 sections, which are:

1. The East Ring Road in the Danjiangkou Reservoir Area, mainly with Danjiangkou The city is the center and extends to both ends. This is the most densely packed scenic spot, and I personally think it is also the most beautiful section.

2. Danjiangkou City East Ring Road to Liangshui River.

3. Liangxi Road, from Liangshuihe, Danjiangkou City to Xijiadian. There are bike paths.

4. The section of Yundan Road (from Danjiangkou City to Yun County) from Xijiadian to Cijialing, Yangxipu Town.

5.209 National Highway from Cijialing to Yun County Chengguan.

6. Yunman Road (Yunxian to Manchuanguan) and two Yunxian sections (Yunxian to Yunxi).

7. Yunyang Road, Yunxi County (Yunxi to Yangwei).

8. The section from Jiangjun River to Wufeng, Hujiaying Town, Yunxian County. This section is a newly built road and is not shown on Baidu Maps.

9. Liuwu Road, Yun County (Liu Pi to Wufeng). There are bike paths.

10. The section from Liupi to Changling in Yun County.

11. Changling connection line of Yunshi Expressway.

12. From Changling, Yun County to Liuliping Youfangping, Danjiangkou City. This section is also a newly built road and is not shown on Baidu Maps.

13. The section from Youfangping to Liu Liping of Liujun Road in Danjiangkou City (from Liu Liping to Junxian Town).

The section of National Highway 14.316 from Liu Liping to Wudangshan Street Liquidambar.

15. Fengtu Road (from Liquidambal Shuya to Tutai Township, now Longshan Town).

16. Tutai (now Longshan Town) to Sanguantang. The section from Longshan Town to Yangxigou Bridge is also a newly built road and is not shown on Baidu Maps.

I also found a road map with a small circle, a medium circle and a large circle. The large circle is more than 420 kilometers. I felt that this was very suitable, so I chose the large circle.

I saw an introduction on CCTV before setting off. It was a 427km circle with beautiful scenery.

So set a time, make an appointment with good friends, and get ready to go!

Still want to explain to you why there is this title?

Because: This roadmap is a big pit! I suggest you don’t go, at least not for the next two years.

The reason is very simple, it is the changes in the routes around Danjiangkou. In many places there are no roads or traffic at all!

I really don’t know if the person who drew this picture has ever seriously walked through it.

I travel by bicycle and cover at least 40,000 kilometers, and I am very confident in my path-finding ability.

After introducing this trap, we have to talk about our trip. After all, it has been three days since I came out, and I still gained something.

The National Day Expressway toll-free policy is still very cool. Depart from Wuhan and go all the way to Danjiangkou.

Thanks to my college roommate Meng Yang for taking us to the Danjiangkou Dam (an attraction similar to the Yellow Crane Tower in Wuhan)

I had dinner on the boat in the evening. It tasted great and felt much better eating it on the boat.

Although some restaurants were built next to Wuhan East Lake before, they were all demolished after environmental control. This time, it really felt good to eat on the Han River.

D.2 Danjiangkou Dam-Huanku Highway-Taiji Gorge-Yunxi County-Jiangjun River Bridge-Liubei Town-Hubei Expressway-Wudang Mountain

Set by AutoNavi.

The first section is the Danjiangkou-Jiangjun River Bridge, passing through Taiji Gorge and Yunxi County. This setting is consistent with the route in the picture, no problem. In the end, it was only 7 kilometers away from Jiangjun River Bridge, and it was all a bad road.

I have to say that when you leave the big city, the sky is blue! Good mood.

The road for half a day was good and the scenery was not bad. I bend a lot just to practice bending.

But I am timid. They didn't dare to press each other when they saw dust on the ground. There are cars occasionally. A

The second section: Jiangjun River Bridge - Wudang Mountain, Liupi Town, Youfangping, this is the access point, no matter how it is set up, it cannot be connected.

Finally, I enlarged the picture and took a closer look, only to find that there were several sections of road on the map that connected each village. Now there is no way to open up the mountains and build roads. We can’t even walk on them, let alone use motorcycles. How would you describe that path? It's like an earthquake just happened, and the road collapsed artificially.

Places where you can take photos are better roads. Worse roads For a newbie like me, I didn't dare stop at all. Backing up in situ is not a shame for me, and I'm afraid of falling big if I fall in the mud.

Although I can’t see the road mentioned in the road book on the map, I still don’t believe in evil. I must try to walk a little longer.

So I discussed with my companions, Jian Yiguo and Du Junguaizi, and asked them to take the expressway to Wudang Mountain to find a place to live. I have enough fuel in my car to run more than 200 kilometers, and I also prepared some dry food and water. I just went to see if that road was possible.

So a person followed the road on the map, got off the Hubei Expressway, and continued walking towards Qingshan Town and Youfangping.

This path is getting more and more wrong. Ten kilometers long, every village is connected by heavy vehicles. Walking is difficult. So I asked about the way to Qingshan Town while walking, and also asked a few villagers riding motorcycles. Some villagers said there was no road, while others said the road was under construction and not yet open to traffic. Because the road was so bad, if a car dropped from 0 speed, it might fall down the mountain. I had to give up exploring the road, return the same way, and take the expressway to Wudang Mountain! Ended the second day's trip.

D3. Wudang Mountain - Longshan Town (return to Fengtu Road from the national highway) - Blue Sea and Blue Sky Observation Deck - Thousand Island Gallery - Niuhe Village - take the expressway back to Wuhan.

This is Fengtu Road under construction. I'm surprised that the middle section of this road is well built, but there are dead ends at both ends. I asked the local villagers that this road is the only road between Longshan Town and the outside world.

I had no choice but to return to the national highway and go directly to the scenic spot near Danjiangkou along the national highway. Finally, I found this greenway surrounding the library next to the scenic spot with clear water and blue sky in Danjiangkou (there is only one section, and this road has not been repaired yet).

Arrived near Thousand Island Gallery at 12:30 noon, found a farmhouse, and asked the owner of the farmhouse for detailed directions. Finally, I learned that this scenic greenway has not yet been built and will be connected to Longshan Town in the future.

The scenery of Danjiangkou Reservoir is still good, but not as beautiful as expected. It's a pity that there is no aerial camera.

We returned to Wuhan at eight o'clock in the evening and ended our trip.

Riding a motorcycle, biking, or going on a road trip, what if you knew what the road ahead looked like, where you were going, and was it necessary to go? Because of the unknown, we will explore; because of exploration, we will be happy! I didn't go your route. I am from Xichuan, Henan, because most of the water in the Danjiang Reservoir is in Xichuan. Last year, the Danjiang Reservoir water level was at its highest, so many roads were underwater. Traveling is just for excitement.
