Definition of seafood

Seafood is also called dried seafood. Dried seafood refers to dried and dehydrated seafood, which is food in coastal areas of China. Among them, "abalone, sea cucumber, shark's fin and fish belly (jelly), bird's nest and mushrooms are collectively called' four major seafood'". Other common seafood are salted fish, dried shrimps, male fish, scallops, dried squid, swim bladder, green dry mouth, dried clams, stinging skin, dried worms, oyster sauce and so on.

The origin of seafood comes from fishermen in the past, who dried the fish they caught because there was no refrigeration equipment on board. At first, this practice was limited to fish, that is, salted fish, and later it was extended to seafood such as shellfish and became seafood.
