Jeremy Lin's parents are from China.

Jeremy Lin's father, Lin Jiming, moved to the United States in 1977. He met Wu Xinxin (Jeremy Lin's mother), also from Taiwan Province, at Ou Daoming University in Virginia. After that, they went to Purdue University in Indiana to study for a doctorate.

Jeremy Lin's grandfather, Lin Xinken, was born in bei dou zhen, Changhua County, Taiwan. His ancestors moved to Taiwan Province from Zhangpu County, Fujian Province, China in 177. Lin Xinken is the seventh generation of the family. Lin Jiming died in his hometown in central Taiwan Province when he was about 5 years old, leaving his wife and four children.

Jeremy Lin's grandmother, Lin Zhumian, was born in Taipei in 1929. For the sake of her children's education, she decided to move to Taipei to support her family by working as a tailor. Her eldest son, Lin Jizong (Jeremy Lin's uncle), went to work in Zhenglong Paper after graduating from middle school to help her family. Two of Lin Xinken's middle school graduates from National Taiwan University and one from Taiwan Province Normal University.

From 26 to 21, Jeremy Lin played for the basketball team of Harvard University. In 21, Jeremy Lin participated in the 21 NBA Draft and eventually lost. After the 21-11 NBA Summer League, Jeremy Lin signed a contract with Golden State Warriors, becoming the first Harvard student and the first Chinese-American player to enter the NBA since 1953.

After joining the NBA, Jeremy Lin played for Golden State Warriors, new york Knicks, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors, and won the NBA championship with the Raptors in 218-19.
