Wuzhen in the rain

When I came to Wuzhen, a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, it was drizzling. Raindrops fell on the river, splashing a little water. Willow trees stained with water drops on both sides of the river bend down on the river, and several small wooden boats with awnings walk slowly on the river. Wuzhen in the rain, immersed in the faint misty rain, I stepped on the wet slate road and crossed the stone arch bridge. What caught my attention was the well-preserved houses in Ming and Qing architectural styles. There are wooden doors everywhere in the street, beautifully carved. Wuzhen is a house built by the river. The house is very high, behind which is a clear river, and the street is not wide. Old streets are scattered on both sides. I walked into a raw drug store, where there was a tall old wooden counter, followed by a square box for discharging medicine, and outside were several pairs of old plush chairs and coffee tables. The iron utensils for processing medicinal materials are black and shiny, and seem to have a history of hundreds of years. They are placed in the aisle. It is said that there are many old shops, such as pawn shops and antique shops, which exist in the same way as before, giving people a feeling of going back to the past. The drizzle is still falling, and the rain flows down the eaves of the houses facing the street. The water drops fall on the roots of the walls and trickle into the river behind the houses. As I walked, I smelled a faint smell of wine. I didn't know it was a century-old shop in Wuzhen until I got to the house. There are nearly a hundred big black jars in the tall room, and the "three liquors" made of white water, white flour and white rice in the back workshop are intoxicating. The old man in the town told me that there are many traditional handicraft workshops and blue calico dyeing workshops in Wuzhen. The newly dyed blue calico is hung under the eaves of the yard with poles. In a small house, I saw two middle-aged women making small bags by hand with blue calico. They are exquisite and beautiful, and people can't put it down. There are also wood carving workshops, bamboo art workshops, fan art workshops and so on. When I came to a fan shop, I saw fans hanging on the walls, counters, shelves and boxes on the ground, including round fans, long fans, folding fans, square fans and craft fans. Fans are mostly made from Wuzhen, a water town. They are beautifully made and very beautiful. In town, I really saw a comic book store. In a small room facing the street, there is a row of low bookshelves, with a full set of comic books such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin and Yue Fei Biography. Many children are sitting on benches in Xiao Mu, reading comic books carefully. I remember when I was a child, there was a comic book shop in Anbeiguan Lane, Xi 'an. There are so many books. After school, I went to read comic books, which was very interesting and made my childhood dream come true. It's really nice to see the villain bookstore in Wuzhen again. Because many houses in Wuzhen are built near the water, there is a small pier connected to the river at regular intervals. I walked through the narrow alley next to the house and saw a small wooden boat parked on the dock. Under the greeting of the boatman, we got on the boat and stood at the bow with an umbrella. The boatman shook his paddle and walked forward. When he came to a stone bridge, gongs and drums sounded. The boatman told me: I jumped off the boat and there was a Little Square on the shore. There is a tall old stage and a play. There is a group of people standing under the stage with umbrellas watching the play. First, an old man sang on the stage. After a while, another old man came out to sing. I'm used to Shaanxi opera at ordinary times, but I don't know why I can't understand this tune of Jiangnan local opera. It's almost evening, and the light rain is still falling. Wuzhen gradually quieted down. I stood on the stone arch bridge in the river and looked at the river passing through the town. There are strings of red lanterns hanging on both sides of the river, antique old houses, Wu Peng boats swaying in the river and small stone bridges in the distance. Wuzhen is really quiet and pleasant. Here, people feel comfortable and really enjoy the beautiful traditional houses and water towns in the south of the Yangtze River.
