How to distinguish Taxodium ascendens from Taxodium ascendens?

Taxodium ascendens: slender, slightly bent downward, with many subulate leaves, slightly bent inward, and extending spirally on the branches.

Taxodium ascendens: The leaves are linear and flat, and the base is twisted into two rows of plumes on the twigs. It is 1- 1.5 cm long and about 1 mm wide, with a sharp apex, concave upper midvein, light green, yellow-green lower midvein and convex midvein. There are 4-8 stomatal lines on both sides, and it turns reddish brown before landing.

Metasequoia glyptostroboides: Branchlets opposite or nearly opposite, drooping. Leaves alternate and pinnately arranged on the side branches of green deciduous leaves.
