How long does it take to learn Russian well from scratch? Yuge used it for 6 months (1)
I started from the basic zero foundation, and spent half a year before and after (with a gap in the middle), and passed Russian B 1. (equivalent to IELTS 4.5)
Reasons for starting to learn Russian
Russia has always fascinated me. First of all, I am a military fan: when it comes to Russia, military fans have discerning eyes, and plane bombs, rocket launchers and submarine nuclear bombs are waiting for you ~ especially its military thoughts and culture, which makes me like both military fans and military books very much. Secondly, Russia is also a country with beautiful scenery and vast territory, which is very suitable for me, a literary man in my early thirties. I have been to Russia three times before and after.
My job is also related to Russian. My former work unit has a project in Kazakhstan in Central Asia. Although the unit has professional translators, it also requires managers to know a little Russian. Learning Russian can also improve the work effect and better integrate with the employees in Kazakhstan.
I liked buying books when I was in college, so I accumulated several Russian textbooks. When I was in college, I saw some Russian movies, so I had a little foundation for self-study.
It should be noted that my previous Russian foundation was limited to reading 33 letters and the simplest sentences in Russian (almost no more than 5 sentences), which was probably not enough for A 1. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is a basic zero foundation.
Work needs to add love for this language and adjust to catch up with my own work, so I have more free time, so I made up my mind to spend some time and suddenly concentrate on learning Russian, and test my learning effect by taking the Russian трки exam.
In fact, I know in my heart that Russian is a difficult language, but I really like it. Besides, I am a man who is determined to win, so I have written a military order for myself and started school!
Set goals for yourself first.
Everything must be planned first. Many people learn a language without a purpose, either the goal is too high or the goal is too low. Middle school students have no positive feedback, no performance incentives, and they don't know if they are learning well. It is easy to give up halfway.
Therefore, I must first determine my purpose: my hard goal in learning Russian is to pass the Russian B 1 exam. If I fail this exam, I must pass the A2 exam, at least get a formal certificate of competency and give myself an explanation. Second, when you meet Russians, you should say hello and chat, and you can't play dumb. Therefore, the learning process must be close to the reality of life and work, and we can't repeat the mistake of not being able to communicate freely after learning English for more than ten years.
My study plan
Once the goal is set, there must be a practical plan: my plan is:
1 lay a good foundation first, especially pronunciation, because I spent some time in college to understand this language and know the basic pronunciation rules of Russian. Before formal study, I can distinguish between soft sounds and hard sounds, and I can basically pronounce a small tongue sound, which is Russian "р". This is an advantage.
2 munch on textbooks. Listen, practice and write the contents of the textbook repeatedly. After all, the textbook is the most direct summary of knowledge. Only by firmly grasping the knowledge in the textbook first can we achieve mastery through a comprehensive study and draw inferences from other countries.
Don't covet perfection, practice one lesson at a time. If you don't understand the text, forget it. You can recite it.
In this way, according to these three principles, I groped and began to learn. Because of the lesson of dumb English, I attached great importance to listening and speaking from the beginning. The Russian textbook of Heilongjiang University is my favorite textbook, with many exercises and complete grammar explanations. Besides, I can't put it down. There is 16 in the first phonetic lesson.
In the first month of my study, I did nothing but practice my pronunciation over and over again. I listened to Lesson 16 of Lesson 1 for a while. I followed it and never let go of every exercise, trying to imitate the sound of Russian. Tired of listening to black Russian, change to Introduction to Russian, and then listen. When you are tired, take out a pen and paper and recite words. After a while, my brain changed back, and then I listened.
When I am free from work, I practice listening crazily with headphones. I don't know why, as soon as I put on my headphones, I feel inexplicably excited. I feel that I am adding bricks to my brain, and every little progress makes me complacent. The phonetic part has already involved some simple spoken language and dialogue, so I practiced repeatedly and imagined myself talking. Sometimes I wonder how to say this greeting in Chinese and then translate it into Russian. Sometimes I look at a Russian sentence and think about how to translate it into Chinese. This involves many cultural differences, which is very interesting:
For example, greetings in the Russian army are very different. Subordinates address their superiors as: здоровьеелаю! I wish you good health! In Chinese, subordinates directly address their superiors: leaders are good, and only birthday greetings can be called health. The cultural differences here can only be felt by careful experience.
Russian interrogative sentences are also different from Chinese. Russian мамадома? Is mom at home? The stress in "mom" is to ask if mom is at home, and the stress in "home" is to ask if mom is at home, which is very different from Chinese. Russian interrogative words only change intonation, not words. In most cases, Chinese interrogative words must be added. It shows that Russian can arouse people's emotions and is more free and unrestrained than Chinese.
The first test of academic performance
While I was practicing абвгд in full swing, the company might notice that I was too idle to learn Russian and suddenly sent me to Kazakhstan for business. This can make me beautiful.
This is my first trip to Central Asia, and I've always wanted to see it. It is also a Russian-speaking country. It's too early to test my Russian, but I can practice greeting at any time, right? A month's study, plus the foundation of the university, is two months at most. What can you say? I don't know. However, the following experience was far beyond my expectation and gave me many surprises.
The first time I spoke in Russian was at the airport. There is a fork on my head when I am waiting for the plane to check my luggage at the Capital Airport. Several Kazakh passengers, probably due to luggage problems, left the queue in a hurry and returned after a while, still occupying their original positions. A Russian-looking aunt waiting in line at the back was very unhappy and mumbled a lot, meaning why don't you wait in line or something. I blurted out a sentence to her at that time: выправы (you did the right thing) and got her response. She pouted ~ _ It seems that my pronunciation is very standard.
At first glance, my pronunciation may be ok ~ A Kazakh uncle behind me, I asked him directly: выизказахстана? Are you from Kazakhstan? ) Uncle Kazakh was surprised and well. I guess my pronunciation is very standard. He thought I could speak Russian, so he just croaked. I didn't understand it at that time, not at all. Uncle ~ _ doesn't want to find a young Kazakh, saying in Chinese that they belong to the oil company ... ……Blabla. I greet them in the simplest Russian. Said I learned some Russian in my spare time. I am very happy in my heart, even if I know a little other people's languages, it is much better than not knowing them.
I am very happy to go to Almaty and Akto on this business trip. I was surprised by the exotic scenery along the way, especially the Caspian Sea. In my opinion, this is not a lake at all, but a rough ocean. Kazakhs are actually very nice and love to say hello. When they heard my special standard greeting pronunciation (in fact, I only knew how to greet each other at that time), they spoke Russian to me like my machine gun, so I had to say: из repeatedly.
