How does the old man spend every day at home alone? Are they lonely?
Tell me about dad's life.
Ten years ago, my mother died, and when she found out it was very late, she was very ill and left in a hurry. After more than a month, she was alone.
Maybe dad wasn't ready either.
At first, we took turns to accompany him. Later, he gradually tidied up his home and mood.
There are many inconveniences in a person's life, but the most important one is psychological discomfort. Fortunately, my father works in an orderly way, cooks neatly, and everything at home is arranged in an orderly way.
Now, dad has gone out of that period and his life is very fulfilling.
He wakes up at five o'clock every day. First, he massaged the lower part of the bed and stretched himself. Then get up and make the bed. After drinking some warm water, I began to do some simple activities.
If you feel hungry, chew some bread or something. If the weather is fine, the old people will get dressed, go out to the lee of the park, do exercises for the elderly and play Tai Chi with those old friends.
If the weather is bad, do it indoors. If I go out to exercise, my father will go to the morning market to buy food on my way home. We will buy it, too. We'll take the time to send it up. When a person eats less, his father always doesn't like to eat more. We bought it because we were afraid that he would eat it alone and have a single nutrition.
Dad likes porridge, hot steamed bread, steamed vegetables and beef. This is usually his breakfast.
In the morning, I either paint at my desk or sort out ancient poems. The morning is divided into three periods, each of which is less than one hour. In the meantime, get up and drink some water and exercise.
Cooking starts at eleven o'clock in the morning, either noodles or stir-fry with rice. However, perhaps because of northerners, my father likes to eat pasta, especially noodles.
Children in junior high school can go up and have dinner with their father two or three times a week. Children go to school, and the school is close to dad.
Watching TV programs while eating is an old habit that has been formed for decades. Dad likes to watch news, documentaries, science and education films and lecture rooms.
After eating and washing dishes, dad will lie down for a while, all year round. Whether he is asleep or not, he can always lie down for about half an hour.
Get up in the afternoon, drink water and have a rest. Then he goes to participate in club activities, or goes out for a walk and chats with his old colleagues.
Dad is versatile, playing the piano, singing, calligraphy and painting. I especially like accordion, erhu, electronic organ and violin. Sometimes they are invited to a nearby school to tune their pianos.
Dad is indispensable for club activities, either accompanying them or helping them arrange music. We have repeatedly advised you not to work too hard when you are old. You can participate, you can play, just consider yourself a consultant. You shouldn't take part in all-weather community activities, or you are afraid that his health will be unbearable.
Dad has a bad stomach, which is the problem that he fell when he was a child. We repeatedly asked him to eat warmer and softer.
When the old man is interested, he can paint for hours. My sister bought a timer and told him to rest on time and not to be too tired. Helpless, the old man is single-minded in everything he does, and it is easy to immerse himself in it.
On Saturday and Sunday, we usually visit him, or his friends and colleagues invite each other to dinner and have a heart-to-heart talk.
Dad usually eats supper after six o'clock. Eat less, mainly vegetables and soup. Watch TV series, watch the news, chat with his friends on their mobile phones, and then go to bed.
He usually washes, soaks his feet and goes to bed at 9: 30. Usually I don't fall asleep until after ten o'clock.
The old man works hard all his life, is rigorous and serious, works regularly, and doesn't like dragging his feet. Life has been very regular since retirement.
After retirement, my father worked hard to study Chinese painting systematically and won the prize in the city's painting and calligraphy competition for the elderly. Very fulfilling.
We are also happy to see dad's mental state. May the elderly be healthy and happy.
