On Xiamen Waitu Bookstore

There are three bookstores in Xiamen Foreign Language Book Exchange Center: Central Bookstore, Xuefu Road Foreign Language Book Store and Taiwan Province Bookstore. Of course, what I am most familiar with is the Xuefu Bookstore, which is near Xiamen University and next to the Photosynthesis Bookstore. However, the decoration of the bookstore is really poor, the floor tiles are protruding, and the store is not good at placing books, and the variety of books makes the bookstore look low. When you walk in, you will feel that the lights are dim and the "book fragrance" smells bad (many books are really hard to smell). However, I usually go shopping. After all, there are some historical academic books in it, and I also stopped by, from Xiaofeng to photosynthesis to the bad bookstore in this university. Another reason is that I almost rummaged through most of the books on the shelf, so they are not an obstacle to me, but a pleasure. I once thought about improving the borrowing rate and circulation rate of some books by changing the status of books in library management. In fact, bookstores can do the same, which of course belongs to the "spatial line of sight management" in management. I said that the bookstore in the university has a low style, and the photosynthesis next to it is not much better. I don't understand the cataloging and classification of books, and I want to have many varieties. I don't know whether to sell coffee or books, but I can also open a branch in Beijing. It seems that the petty bourgeoisie in Beijing still prefers this model. Xiaofeng Bookstore is also said to be developing somewhere in Beijing, but it is estimated that it may not operate very well!

Now let's talk about the central bookstore in other places, which is also a celebration of National Day. The problem of the bookstore in Waitu Center is similar to that mentioned above, but the books are not too messy. After entering the door, my eyes will inevitably be hit by "colorful" popular books (in fact, mostly red and yellow). I walked around the elevator on the first floor and saw a set of All Wen Song in a high bookcase (the bookcase is like a closet). The price of this book is really high. There are many other books with the prefix "All", but All Wen Song is the largest. In addition, on the first floor, I also saw a seemingly good magazine, Cross-Strait Academic, which talked about cross-strait book publishing information.

Then the elevator went up to the second floor, mainly dealing with the law, and I didn't have the mind to read more books. But after browsing the audio-visual products, I saw a bunch of trendy records, such as Three Cat Biscuits (He), and May's The Weight of the Soul was put in the speaker, so I recognized the sentence "After I chose to say goodbye". In addition, there is Casio Electronic Dictionary Experience Store on the second floor. I couldn't afford it, so I hurried by and went to the third floor.

There is a bookstore in Taiwan Province Province on the third floor, so I went to visit it first. There are not many books. I have seen most of the books in Taiwan Province Province here. For example, Zhu Jianing's phonology and Zhou Zumo's research on the evolution of rhyme in the Han, Wei, Southern and Northern Dynasties. Some of them have never been seen before, while others are newly published, such as Zhang Fengzhi's Biography of Tieqian Springs in Southern Song Dynasty, Wei Peiquan's Study on Appellations of Han, Wei and Six Dynasties, Hou Naihui's Poetry and Seclusion: the Garden Life of Scholars in Tang Dynasty, He Shaoqi's Reading Doubts and Clinical Gains and Losses, Yang Ruizhi's Exegetics and Zhu Qixiang's Jen-der Lee. There are other books published by mainland researchers in Taiwan Province Province, such as The History of Civilization edited by Mark Yao. Generally speaking, there are not too many books. After all, I can basically write down the title of Wen Shizhe in half an hour. As for the quality, there are still some classic academic books, but they are too expensive. It's usually one or two hundred. I remember that Ma Youyuan's Interpretation of the History of China's Novels was more than 300 (or more than 200, I can't remember). This book is also available in the library of Xiamen University, but the envelope has been taken away. Xiamen University Library often does this, which makes my familiar books strange, because what I see is not sealed, but I feel strange when I see the original book with an envelope.

After reading the bookstore in Taiwan Province Province, I read the literature and history books published by the great motherland. Most of them have been seen before, so I just glanced at them casually, and some of them have never seen them, such as Yu Taishan, Li Jinxiu's Notes on Western Regions Literature, and Wang Chunyu's newly edited Record of Japanese Knowledge.

After that, I bought a cup of tea, went to the fifth floor and read several English dictionary books, including Random House Webster's Advanced American English-Chinese Dictionary, COD (Concise Oxford English Dictionary), SOED (Oxford English Dictionary), New Oxford English-Chinese Dictionary and Random House Webster's English-Chinese University Dictionary. The original English version of this book is a good book, and its vocabulary is better than mwcd (Webster's University Dictionary).

Well, I've been downstairs, and I'm going to look for a bookstore in Taiwan Province Province after I go out. Unfortunately, I didn't find it. As a result, I walked from Hexiang West Road to the ferry terminal, and the result is today: my legs are so sleepy.

When I walked to the ferry, I remembered that I hadn't been here for three years, the first time was in 2004!
