I am studying mining engineering now. Will you go to work in the mountains and forests after graduation? Do you want to change majors? Will be transferred

Not necessarily.

First of all, you should understand some basic characteristics of this major.

Employment direction of mining engineering major: 1, metal and nonmetal mines; 2. Mining construction companies; 3. Luqiao Company; 4. Mine Design Institute; 5. Resource exploration companies; 6. Blasting company; 7. Bureau of Mines or Bureau of Land and Resources.

Based on my two-year working experience in the mine and my understanding of this industry, I will briefly and objectively introduce the specific situation of these six directions, which is useful to you (you are a sophomore this year). Also, you can ask the teacher (by the way, you must dare to communicate with the teacher actively at school! )

1, nonferrous and rare metal mines are mainly mined underground, while iron ore and nonmetal mines are mostly mined in the open pit. In China, as long as there are mines, they all have a common feature, that is, they are remote, with inconvenient transportation (of course, there are mines near the county or the urban area, but after all, they are a few), and their life and work are rather monotonous. At this point, it seems that it is no big deal to say so, but it is even more unbearable to be in such a state for a long time. Non-metallic minerals (I mainly mean limestone) are usually in the suburbs. You should go to the cement company at this time. China Resources and Conch are both large cement production companies.

About the mine environment. It should be divided into natural environment and working environment. A) Personally, I think the natural environment, on the whole, is not bad, even beautiful, if you have this romantic poetry. I have to mention that, after all, it is industrial development, bare excavation engineering, simple and rough factory buildings, as well as concentrator wastewater and tailings pond. Of course, that's not the point. B) The dust in the open-pit mining operation environment is relatively large. Underground mining is hard work in mines. If you work in a mine, your level is mining technician. Technicians spend more time doing mining design in the office and less time working in the well. As for the office environment, it should vary from mine to mine.

About safety. Mining belongs to one of the six high-risk industries, and safety is the first, which has to be mentioned. Now the country has strengthened the integrated management of mining industry, and the security situation is much better. But security is never absolute. There have been many serious accidents in coal mines this year, but there seems to be no metal mines. In fact, it is common for metal mines to be seriously injured or even killed, but there are too few deaths, so they can't make the news ... Accidents usually happen to construction workers on the construction surface, and engineers and technicians are still relatively safe.

In addition, in terms of safety, the general situation is that state-owned enterprises should pay more attention to and invest more than private enterprises (according to state regulations, safety investment accounts for a large proportion of mining costs).

2. Mining construction company. Mainly undertake important projects of large or small mines, such as shafts. Of course, I still work in the mine.

3. Road and Bridge Company. This seems irrelevant at first glance, but it is actually related to mining engineering. Mining engineering major still has some similarities with civil engineering and road and bridge engineering in discipline, which I believe you should be clear about. Of course, road and bridge companies are not engaged in road and bridge design, but in engineering supervision, such as subgrade, slope, tunnel and so on. I have classmates from China Railway, but they are hard to hear.

4. Mine Design Institute. This is also divided into state-owned and private. Changsha Nonferrous Metals Design Institute, for example, is the top design institute in China mining industry and is state-owned. I tell you clearly that it is too small, too small, too small for a small undergraduate to enter such a design institute. Private mining design institute is a good choice, first work in the city, of course, also want to go to the mine-it is impossible to do any engineering design on paper.

I don't know much about this, but I have classmates in such a company.

6. Blasting company. This is mainly directional blasting, such as Guangdong Hongda Blasting Co., Ltd., blasting engineering is a course for mining majors, and some schools offer directional blasting courses, such as Guangxi University.

7. Bureau of Mines or Bureau of Land and Resources. I don't know much about my job, but it's hard to get in. You all know the reason!

Generally speaking, the mining profession has a large employment caliber, but the work is basically hard. If you want to work in this major, you must make hard preparations in this respect. Employment can be said to be absolutely no problem

As for some people who say that large state-owned enterprises are well paid and have a wide career, I think it is ridiculous anyway.

The above is my personal experience and understanding over the years, for reference only.

After understanding these characteristics of mining major, I personally think you can make a choice. If you are very uninterested in the subjects you have studied in this major, and you don't like the future work of this major, and you are more interested in other majors, I think it's better to change it!

As for what major to switch to, you still have to choose according to your own interests. Why is there such a problem? Why not do what you like? ! Do you think so?
