There are several simple algorithms for multiplying 1 by 100.

Followed by 24 consecutive zeros. Because there are multiples of 2 in 100, a * * * has 78 2s. There are 24 fives in multiples of five, so there are 24 zeros behind them. This is the rule.

Let's start with 78 and 24.

There are 50 even numbers from 1 to 100, so there are 50 twos. There are two other numbers, 2 squared, 4 times, 5 times and 6 times, which is 15. There are still 44 88, there are three, so it is 78.

In the same way, 5 is much simpler. The multiple of 5 * * * is 20 (5, 10, 15, 20...90, 95, 100), and there are 25,5075, 100. Four of these four numbers were not selected.
