Waterproofing the bathroom is really important. I'm an installer in the upper bathroom, so I'll tell you something about bathroom waterproofing based on my experience.

Leveling treatment

The floor of the bathroom should be leveled first. If you want to replace the floor tiles in the bathroom, after chiseling off the original floor tiles, you must first level the ground with cement mortar, and then do waterproof treatment. This can avoid leakage caused by uneven thickness of waterproof coating.

Combined treatment

The joints should be painted. The joint between the bathroom wall and the ground and the joint between the upper and lower water pipes and the ground are the most prone to problems. In the process of construction, workers must be urged to properly handle these corners and apply waterproof paint "in place".

Wall treatment

Wall treatment is also very important. General toilet waterproof treatment, but also to do about 30 cm high waterproof coating on the wall to prevent water from infiltrating into the wall. But if the bathroom wall is a non-load-bearing lightweight wall, it is necessary to coat the whole wall with waterproof paint.

Waterproof experiment

Waterproof experiments must be done. After the toilet construction is completed, all the sewage in the bathroom will be blocked, a 25 cm high "ridge" will be built at the door, and then 20 cm high water will be poured into the bathroom. After 24 hours, check the surrounding walls and ground for leakage. This 24-hour waterproof experiment is the key to ensure the quality of bathroom waterproof engineering and must be done.
