At the gate of Yiyang, the grass grows and the warbler flies, and the water flows from east to west.

Fragrant trees have no flowers, and birds are singing all the way to the spring mountain.

Translation:

Outside Yiyang city, weeds are flourishing and endless. This mountain stream flows eastward and then westward. In the spring mountain, the trees are lush and fragrant, but there is no one, flowers bloom and birds sing all the way.

This is a landscape poem. When the author passed Yiyang in the spring, he felt something about the scenery in front of him and improvised the melancholy of "Although the mountains and rivers are cracked, flowers fall and birds sing".

Li Hua was demoted as a steward in Hangzhou to join the army because of his fake job when An Lushan was trapped in Chang 'an. This poem was written shortly after the Anshi Rebellion subsided. At that time, Yiyang's position was very important, and Lianchang Palace, one of the largest palaces in the Tang Dynasty, was located here. Nuwa Mountain in the territory is a famous scenic spot, with ancient trees and flowing springs, birds and flowers, and beautiful scenery. This is a natural garden. It attracts royalty, nobles, poets and tourists to watch it every year. However, in the Anshi Rebellion, it was severely damaged and the scene was bleak. The poet wrote this poem because he had a unique experience of these scenes through Yiyang after the An Shi Rebellion.

Li Hua (about 7 15-766) was an essayist and poet in the Tang Dynasty. Word uncle, Zhao Jun praised the emperor (now Hebei). In the 23rd year of Kaiyuan (735), he was a scholar, and in the 2nd year of Tianbao (743), he was admitted to the department of erudition and macro-rhetoric, and was appointed by the official to fill the vacancy. When An Lushan was trapped in Chang 'an, he was forced to give up his family in Fengge. After the "An Shi Rebellion" was pacified, he was demoted to Hangzhou to join the army. Next year, he will embark on his official career because of rheumatism and arthralgia, and then he will live in seclusion in Yang Shan and believe in Buddhism. Tang Daizong died in the first year of Dali (766). As a famous essayist, he is as famous as George W. Shi Ying and is called "Xiao Li" by the world. And with Xiao, Yan Zhenqing and other * * * advocated the study of ancient Chinese classics, and set off the ancient Chinese prose movement in Korea and Liu. His article "generally takes the Five Classics as its source" (Preface to Dugu and Li Ji in Zhao County), "it is not the intention of the Lord, and it is not a book".
