The Jiuzhaigou earthquake tells us: the future is not long, cherish the people in front of you

01 Tomorrow or accident, you never know which one will come first

The past day was a gray day. On the evening of August 8, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake occurred in Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan.

According to media reports, as of August 9, the earthquake had killed 19 people and injured 247 people. We would like to pray for the victims and injured here.

Some people are lucky and escape death; some people fail to escape the clutches of disaster.

In the face of disaster, it turns out that we are so weak.

We never know whether the sun today will be the sun on our last day;

We never know whether we will have a chance to open our eyes again if we close our eyes this night. ;

We never know whether we will have the opportunity to give our loved ones a care and a greeting tomorrow.

This reminds me of the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, which was one of the most destructive earthquakes in China with the widest impact and the largest number of casualties.

There were three earthquake stories that impressed me deeply at that time, and they are still fresh in my memory.

1. Father and Son

After the earthquake, the father dug with his bare hands in order to rescue his son who was buried in the rubble. The rescuers persuaded him to stop digging. He ignored or said anything and dug silently. He continued digging until his hands bled and his nails fell off.

After digging for three days and three nights, he didn’t eat, talk or cry. He only drank some water occasionally.

Finally, his son was dug out on the third day, but there was no sign of life. He found water and cloth, wiped his son's body and combed his hair.

He sat there all night holding his son's body. At dawn, the car transporting the body came over to take his son away. Everyone wanted to help carry it, but he refused. He picked up the bag containing his son and carried his son into the car. Then he picked a wild flower, put it on the bag containing his son, and said: "Son, daddy will give you one more ride."

When I saw this report, I shed tears uncontrollably. The saddest thing in life is when a person with white hair gives a gift to a person with black hair.

I wonder how the father who lost his son in the disaster is doing now?

2. Mother and Daughter

This one is about a lady who lost her daughter in the earthquake and became a mother who lost her only child.

I want to tell this touching story based on the last conversation between mother and daughter:

"Hurry up, kid, hold on to your mother's hand. The road to heaven is too dark. Mom is afraid that you will touch your head, so hold on to Mom’s hand and let Mom take you away.”

“Mom, I’m afraid that the road to heaven is too dark and I can’t see your hand. Since the wall collapsed, Take away the sunshine and I will never see you again."

The child still has a long life, why does it end like this? May there be no pain in heaven!

3. Man and Dog

This is a story about military dogs. At that time, a military search and rescue dog found that an uncle was buried. It got in and wanted to rescue, but who knew it suddenly collapsed? .

When the military dogs finally dug it out, the internal organs had been smashed. The soldier in charge of the military dog ??hugged it and cried, crying like a father who lost his child.

He knew that the military dog ??could not be saved, and he did not want it to suffer, so he clamped the military dog's neck with his hands until the military dog ??stopped moving. I heard that the military dog ??had discovered and helped the soldiers rescue many survivors during the earthquake.

If the military dog ??could talk, I think it would also say goodbye before leaving: "You can't forget the road I walked with you. The injuries I suffered are all my medals. The rest of my life will be very beautiful." I can no longer accompany you to the front line of the disaster area. Please take care of yourself!”

Military dogs are the most loyal friends of mankind. May the world treat them with gentleness and kindness.

02 The future is not long, cherish the people in front of you

Life is actually like a subtraction, every day passes, one day is missing, and every time you see, you lose one.

There seem to be countless opportunities for reunion between friends or relatives. In fact, for too many people, one turn away is a lifelong separation with no future.

Life is short and the future is not long. Perhaps all we can do is cherish the people in front of us and live every minute well.

Do what you want to do quickly, go see the people you want to see, remember to say what you haven’t said yet, and don’t be stingy with your expressions.
