Narration of Andy's escape from prison in The Shawshank Redemption

"The Shawshank Redemption" is undoubtedly a good movie. It has no action, no stunts, or even beauties, but it can still deeply impress the audience, and its charm has not diminished after more than ten years. What attracts us to it?

Some people say it is because it reflects the "toughness of human nature." Indeed, with a small hammer, over the past 20 years, a small escape tunnel was dug in a fascist-style prison with extremely strict personal control (perhaps it is more appropriate to call it a small tunnel, because that hammer is too small ). However, I think this plot is obviously dramatic. This is just the director's need for plot arrangement. This ending is just to reflect the final success of Andy's "self-redemption", otherwise the entire plot and theme Unsustainable. Therefore, some people believe that "The Shawshank Redemption" actually reflects how precious "hope" is to people. Yes, there are many places in the film that directly talk about hope. For example, Andy said in his letter to Red after escaping from prison: "Remember, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies." Perhaps this is what the work and the director want to tell us. "Fear can hold you prisoner, Hope can set you free." This sentence has become a famous saying.

For me, this is not the only thing that impressed me about "The Shawshank Redemption".

Warden Norton is aloof, usually sanctimonious, and knows the Bible by heart. In fact, he is unscrupulous, cruel, insidious and greedy when it comes to grabbing profits. Prison Sergeant Haley and other police officers were cruel and cruel, acting as Norton's thugs and taking the lives of prisoners at a loss. Are they very much like the powerful people in our reality?
