What is the origin of Zhumadian?

Zhumadian was first under the jurisdiction of Runan government, Queshan county and Xinyang in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and then Zhumadian area was established, which governed 9 counties 1 city. In 2000, the land was withdrawn to build the city, and Zhumadian area was renamed Zhumadian City, and Zhumadian City was renamed Yicheng District.

Zhumadian is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization, the core area of Pangu's creation activities, the hometown of Leizu, the wife of Xuanyuan Huangdi, the weapons manufacturing center of the Warring States Period, and the hometown of Chua's, Jin's and Jiang's families.

There are 7 forest parks in the city, including 4 national forest parks, with more natural and cultural landscapes; Zhumadian also has cultural resources such as hometown, the tomb of Li Si, prime minister of Qin Dynasty, Fuxi Guaguan and iron smelting site in Warring States, the ancient city of Caiguo in Western Zhou Dynasty, Tianzhongshan and Wuying Tower, as well as the Nanhai Temple (1522- 1566) built in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty.

Zhumadian City is located on the third-class landform steps of China, spanning the eastern edge of Nanyang Basin and Huaibei Plain, belonging to the Yangtze River Basin and Huaihe River Basin. The general feature of its topography is that it is high in the west and low in the east, and the west is a low hill composed of Funiu Mountain and Tongbai Mountain, with an altitude of 300-600 meters.
