Why are East Asian countries generally stricter than those in Europe and America?

Some netizens said that we are naturally short of resources, and Europe and the United States have imposed blockades on key technologies, and western capital has strong control, especially dollar hegemony. Therefore, East Asia has to be involved. I think there are reasons for this, but it's not just that. In addition, it actually includes the reasons of culture, social security and full competition in East Asian countries.

So what other reasons have caused East Asian countries to be more involved than Europe and America? Combining with my understanding, the reasons are as follows:

First, the influence of Confucian culture in East Asian countries.

China, Japan and South Korea are deeply influenced by Confucian culture in history. Confucian culture emphasizes "joining the WTO" and "everything is inferior, only reading is high". People in the Confucian cultural circle always think that everyone is doing well, and I must be better than most people, especially in education.

Compared with Europe and America, I have a college classmate who is studying in the UK. According to her, the students around me are all of different ages, and many students in the apartment will study several undergraduate courses. If they don't like it, they will change, just like playing. You can abandon your literature and change your career, suddenly go back to get married in the middle of reading, or go back to school when you feel that your work is not going well in middle age. Nothing is strange. Everything is normal. It seems that there is no definition of "how old you should be" in their eyes. No longer framed by the concept of age, which means that you can make any choice you like.

Therefore, we can actually see the difference between the involution of East Asia and the relaxation of European and American countries from the cultural perspective.

second, the social welfare guarantee mechanism is not as perfect as that of European and American countries.

The wealth and GDP income originally accumulated in Europe and America are enough to support the high welfare system in Europe and America. Compared with this high welfare system in Europe and America, even the developed economies in East Asia, such as South Korea and Japan, are far behind, and the pressure on people's life is extremely great. There is even a dilemma that retired people in their eighties still need to earn living expenses by renting out and delivering food, because the finances of these countries are difficult to support the welfare in Europe and America, and people's lives are relatively much more difficult.

For example, the current pension crisis in Japan can only be alleviated by extending the retirement age. Recently, some experts even called on the elderly to commit suicide. Because the social welfare security mechanism is not as perfect as that in Europe and America, and influenced by Confucianism, people in East Asia attach more importance to family, and almost always do their best to provide support for the next generation, which will naturally become more involuted. It is really a matter of living to the old age, and there are really too few people who retire when they are old.

third, the impact of the competitive environment.

Take China as an example, the number of college entrance examinations in China has remained at around 9-1 million in recent years, the admission rate has reached 9.34% in 22, and the number of graduates is expected to be 11.58 million by 223.

After a large number of college students graduate, it is natural for their academic qualifications to depreciate, which is why it is difficult for ordinary undergraduates to find satisfactory jobs in recent years, and the academic qualifications of 211 and 985 are barely the stepping stone for some units. Obviously, good jobs are limited, such as teachers, and a small number of salaries and benefits greatly exceed those outside the system, some positions in large factories and a small number of positions in foreign companies. As the competition becomes more and more full, the competition for jobs will definitely become more intense, in terms of academic qualifications and in other aspects. Full competition will make the examination paper more serious.
