? Confucius said, "If you have the beauty of the talents of the Duke of Zhou, you will be arrogant and stingy, and the rest will be insufficient."

? Confucius said: "Even if you have the wonderful talent of the Duke of Zhou, if you are proud and stingy, then other aspects are not worth mentioning."

? I understand this passage in The Analects of Confucius. It is not worth mentioning that Confucius compared the beauty of the talent of the Duke of Zhou by means of comparison, if a person is proud and stingy. I am talking about pride and meanness.

? Duke Zhou is a man with both ability and political integrity. Politically and militarily, he is one of the most admired figures of Confucius. A nearly perfect person like Duke Zhou is not worth mentioning if he is contaminated with "pride and meanness", let alone an ordinary person.

? Proud people tend to have inflated self-awareness and feel great and arrogant. I feel better than anyone when I speak and do things, and no one cares. Seeing that others can't do it, they will say that they are incapable; When you see someone doing a good job, you will say how to let me do it. Always dismissive of others, like to derogate and satirize others when speaking. No one wants to get along with such people.

? Like arrogance, meanness is extremely harmful. The so-called stingy, is what we usually call stingy, stingy people are also called "misers", as poor as a church mouse. This kind of person is narrow-minded, always starting from his own interests, doing what is good for him and hiding what is bad for him. This kind of person is selfish, greedy, the most difficult to approach, and completely harms others and benefits themselves.
