Egypt: the dream of that summer
In the summer of 217, I was 2 years old and went to Egypt as an overseas volunteer. Different from traveling in the traditional sense, I truly felt the culture and customs of this country. Please listen to me slowly.
It departs from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport on the evening of July 15th, and Egypt Airlines flies directly to Cairo Airport in about 11 hours. The pharaoh statues and pyramid posters coming from the plane gave me a sense of reality. "Wow, I really came to this mysterious country!" I changed money at the airport and bought a phone card. I was about to contact the person in charge of the branch when I saw the little Egyptian brother who came to pick me up holding a sign with my name on it, and everything was going well.
My little brother from Egypt sent me to my apartment in Maadi. I heard that the public security is better in the rich areas. My friends all went on a trip to Dahab and didn't come back until that night, so I met my friends from all over the world in the evening. Everyone was super enthusiastic and very teasing, and the previous worries suddenly dissipated.
Life on weekdays is to work during the day and get high with friends at night. Let's talk about my project first. It's called Lead Green, and it's about protecting the environment. If I work every Monday to Wednesday, I will actually work for three to four hours every day, and I will work in different NGOs. Sometimes I teach children how to protect the environment, and I also teach some English about protecting the environment. Sometimes I help places like welfare homes to transform the environment.
that's probably how things are at work. In fact, I spend most of my time playing with my friends and traveling. During working days, I usually go to cafes to chat, watch football games or play games at home, which is leisure and interesting.
My favorite cafe is near the Nile River in downtown Cairo. I like sitting there blowing a cool wind, watching people singing and dancing on flueka, watching Arab women with headscarves talking and laughing next to them, and watching carriages and cars coming and going on the bridge. I thought before that religion completely bound them, so wouldn't this life be boring? When I came to Egypt, I found that on the contrary, the couples snuggling up to each other on the bridge were whispering, and the people in the cafe watched the football match together. Perhaps it is because the daytime is too hot, the nightlife of the Egyptian people is always very rich, and the streets of Cairo are still busy at three o'clock in the morning.
Let's talk about my trip in Egypt, mainly going out with my friends on rest days. First I went to the Black and White Desert, then Luxor, Aswan and Alexandria, and of course Cairo.
The trip to the Black and White Desert is organized by a branch, lasting two days and one night. We set out from Cairo at seven o'clock the first morning, and then headed for the desert. Along the way, it is constantly marching in the desert, and when you reach a scenic spot, you will stop to enjoy it. I went to the black desert first, and I always wondered why it was called the black desert. How can sand be black? When I got there, I realized that it was because the stones in the desert were all black, and the name of the white desert came from the same reason. I watched the desert sunset in the evening. There was no "solitary smoke", but the sunset was really round. Under the background of the desert, the sunset was really shocking! The campsite in the evening already belongs to the Sahara desert, and the bonfire party reached its climax. Foreign friends can sing and dance, accompanied by Arabic music, which is super emotional.
Luxor's trip to Aswan lasted five days and four nights. I stayed in Aswan for one night and went to Nubian village. I heard that there are 1, crocodiles raised there, and Nubians worship crocodiles as gods (of course, I only saw one crocodile). Don't say it, just go to the picture!
We went down to Luxor by boat along the Nile. There are many temples, the Valley of the Kings. Because I didn't know the history of Egypt in advance, I just saw a pile of stones. Except Luxor Temple, Queen Valley and Queen Hatshepsut Temple, all the other names have been forgotten (embarrassed), so let's just go to the picture.
Next is Alexandria, which can be said to be my favorite city in Egypt. The reason is that it is really beautiful. The blue of the Mediterranean is deeply rooted in people's hearts, adults and children in Alexandria are at ease, and there is also the Alexandria Library, which contains a small part of human civilization.
cairo. It's very casual in Cairo. I go out for a walk almost every day. When I'm bored, I go to some interesting places, and I've also gone to many places. The National Museum of Egypt, the Ali Mosque, Saladin Castle and, of course, the pyramids (see the picture below).
Tell me about your impression of Cairo. When I first went there, I spoke with my friends about Egyptian time and Egyptian style. It was nothing more than that Egyptians were slow-witted, and they were a little inefficient and liked to be late. Now I still like enthusiastic Egyptians in retrospect. Then the last thing I like is the streets of Cairo, which are full of loess dust. Finally, I gave up brushing my shoes and walked around the streets of Cairo in flip-flops every day. There is also the price! Price! What I miss most after returning home is the price there! Really cheap!
The above is only a small part of life in Egypt. There are many interesting things during the forty days in Egypt. Do you want to hear them?
my dream is unfinished. . .
