1. Xinjiang has been a multi-ethnic community since ancient times.

During the Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC-476 BC) and the Warring States Period, some Qiang people migrated westward along Qilian Mountain and Kunlun Mountain via Hexi Corridor, leaving footprints in Xinjiang. Xiongnu mainly entered Xinjiang around 176 BC. Han nationality is one of the ethnic groups that entered Xinjiang earlier.
