The spacious highway runs through the whole city from north to south, and the old Yellow River passes through the city. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), due to the increase of population and the development of industry, people paid no attention to environmental protection and discharged all kinds of sewage and wastewater directly into rivers. Over time, the crystal clear river disappeared, and the fish swimming happily lost their homes ... Kuihe River became a stinking river that everyone hated, which not only blackened the face of this ancient and beautiful city in hometown, but also seriously affected the lives of people on both sides of the strait. After the reform and opening up, especially in recent years, we Xuzhou people realized the importance of the environment and decided to completely eradicate the Kuihe River, clean up the silt at the bottom of the river, attract clean river water, cover it, spread thick soil and plant flowers and trees. Now, the Kuihe River has become a beautiful neighborhood garden, and the birds are back. People can walk, rest, play chess and chat there ... After harnessing the Kuihe River, people put on green clothes on the banks of the ancient Yellow River and install colorful lanterns along the banks.
