This five-character quatrain is dedicated to describing the bitterness and hardship of the author's creation of A Dream of Red Mansions, and it is also the only poem in the book that appears as an author. Cao Xueqin, in mourning for Hongxuan, "read it for ten years, added and deleted it five times" and completed a dream of red mansions, an unprecedented wonderful book. Not only in the eyes of the author, but also in the eyes of future generations, it is also "every word is like blood, and ten years of hard work is extraordinary (JOE Review by Zhi Yanzhai)". The so-called "absurd words" in the poem are actually not absurd, it is a ruthless criticism and exposure of feudal society. Including all kinds of adventures that the stubborn stone turned into a "psychic Baoyu" and was brought into the world of mortals by waiter Shen Ying; It also includes the joys and sorrows of the love stories of Bao, Dai and Chai. The internal struggle of feudal rulers represented by four big families and so on. A "bitter tears" tells the ups and downs of Cao Xueqin's life. When the author wrote A Dream of Red Mansions, he had changed from a greedy aristocratic son of Zhong Ming to a poor scholar, and the hardships and misery of his life could not be expressed in words. Distinguish and appreciate

Li Wan recommended herself to be in charge of the altar of Haitang Poetry Society, and declared: "I want to be promoted to president, naturally there is no president. If I have to invite two vice principals, I will invite two pedants, namely Lingzhou (the nickname of Yingchun) and Lotus Tree (the nickname of Xichun). One will write a question and the other will copy it. We can't stop the three of us from doing it. If we encounter a relaxed rhyme, we will also write a song casually. All four of you are restricted. " Li Wan's "four" are Tanchun, Baochai, Baoyu and Daiyu, so only four of them wrote Haitang poems for the first time.

Baochai is a typical feudal aristocratic family, almost to the point of "see no evil, don't listen to evil, don't say evil, don't move until evil". Although I stole books like The West Chamber when I was a child, I never showed them in front of people. When I heard Daiyu's call to arms, I said the words in the West Chamber and immediately gave a kind warning behind my back. The "Embroidered Spring Capsule" incident happened in the Grand View Garden. She immediately moved out of the Grand View Garden on the pretext that her mother was ill, which was a manifestation of her "love for beauty". She doesn't like pollen on weekdays, and the clothes she wears are neither old nor new, which is the footnote of her "washing out" and "rouge". "A flower is more beautiful when it is pale" shows that she is full of reserve and confidence in her inner beauty and outer beauty. The fifth chapter says that she is "square in character and beautiful in appearance, and many people say that Daiyu is inferior", which is circumstantial evidence.

The sentence "Worry comes without trace of jade" directly points out that there are criticisms of "satirizing Lin and Bao". Both Lin and Bao have the word "jade" in their names, which is really the word "worry". Is this deliberate innuendo or accidental coincidence? It's hard to judge, but tell me.

Li Wan, president of the poetry club, thinks that "Baochai's poems should have an identity", which is the identity of a "lady" in feudal society. Baochai was deeply poisoned by feudal ethics, and used this ethics to restrain others, thinking that she was helping others. Her tragedy is that she did something that hurt others without realizing it. In essence, she is not a villain, let alone a schemer, and her future experience is also worthy of sympathy.

Lin Daiyu's poems

Half-rolled curtains cover the door, and the ice is ground into earth jade as a basin.

Steal a pear for three cents and borrow a plum blossom for a soul.

There is always a woman crying in autumn in her heart when the fairy in the moon cave sews.

Who is shy and silent? I'm tired of leaning against the west wind at night.

Distinguish and appreciate

Everyone else has handed in their papers, but Daiyu hasn't. Li Wan urged her to throw it at Li Wan and others with a stroke of a pen, showing Daiyu's special flexibility.

Contrary to Baochai's "cherishing Fang Zi and covering the door during the day", Daiyu is a "half-rolling curtain and half-covering the door", willful and does not particularly cherish the identity of your lady. "Broken ice turns into soil, jade into a basin" means that she is clean and dust-free now. She compares herself to Bai Haitang, where there is the whiteness of pear blossoms and the fragrance of plum blossoms. Isn't "Moon Cave Fairy" a "Pearl Fairy"? How depressing it is to sew white clothes in Leng Yue Cave; How pitiful it is to cry quietly in the boudoir in autumn. Full of worries, I can't talk to anyone, so I have to send away one lonely dusk after another in the season when the west wind leaves.

Everyone in the poetry club reads Daiyu's poems, "the only way is the first", but Li Wan said, "If it is romantic and unique, it is this one; If the theory is subtle and profound, I will eventually let the manuscript. " Li Wan's comments may be unfair, but her comments do point out the characteristics of Lin and Xue's poems. The so-called "romantic and chic" means novel and ingenious ideas, and the so-called "subtle and vigorous" means gentle and sincere, sad without hurting people. Judging from the standard of "good family", Li Wan naturally rated Baochai's poems as the first. Only Baoyu, who knows Daiyu best, understands the connotation of her poems and asks to re-evaluate the poetic dispute between Xue and Lin, but Li Wan refuses.
