Although Yang Ye managed the territory, there was no war with the Khitan. However, the war between Song and Qidan still exists.

When Song Taizong wanted to take the initiative to attack the Khitan, Yang Jiajiang was incorporated into the marked army led by Lord Pan Mei under the leadership of Yang Ye.

Originally, Yang Ye and Pan Mei agreed to ambush the Khitan soldiers in Chenjiagu. Yang Ye led Yang Jiajiang to lure the Khitan soldiers to Chen Gulong, and Pan Mei was responsible for the ambush. Wait until the Khitans enter the ambush circle, and then annihilate them in one fell swoop.

However, when Yang Ye led Yang Jiajiang to lure the Khitan army to Chenjiagu, Pan Mei led Song Jun to escape ahead of schedule.
