In the second year of Jingkang in the Northern Song Dynasty (1 127), the corrupt Song Dynasty collapsed under the heavy blow of Jin Bing, and Huidi, Qin and Zhao's relatives and a large number of subjects were exiled to the north. Zhao Gou fled south with courtiers, first to Yangzhou, then to Lin 'an (now Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province) after crossing the river, and then to Yuezhou (now Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province) and Mingzhou (now Ningbo, Zhejiang Province) under the pursuit of nomads from the army. After the change of Jingkang, Zhao Mingcheng, Li Qingzhao's husband, became the magistrate of Jiankang. One night, a rebellion broke out in the city. Instead of counterinsurgency, Zhao Mingcheng chickened out. In March of the third year of the Southern Song Dynasty (1 129), Zhao Mingcheng went to Jiankang, and together with Li Qingzhao, he "took a boat to Wuhu, entered his aunt, and settled on the water in Jiangxi" (preface to Jinshi). When crossing the Wujiang River in April and May, Li Qingzhao wrote this poem out of tragic feelings for Xiang Yu. At the same time, there are also insinuations about the Southern Song Dynasty and her husband.

Her father Li has a rich collection of books, and she has laid a literary foundation in a good family environment since she was a child.
