Music Elf-Ocarina

The ocarina is the smallest and cutest among the musical instruments. Ocarinas are generally divided into two types: nine-hole xundi and twelve-hole submarine-shaped ocarina. Why talk about the ocarina? Let me tell you.

This summer vacation, my father took me to Xiamen to learn ocarina. The person who taught me how to play the ocarina was my father’s good friend. I called him Teacher Lai. I heard that Teacher Lai was very good at playing the ocarina. We and Teacher Lai came to the home of a teacher named Sun. As soon as I entered the door, I saw a small shelf against the wall opposite, with various ocarinas placed on it. Those ocarinas were exquisitely made into different shapes: some were made into small turtles, and the heads of the small turtles were placed on them. Come and blow, it's very creative; some are made into the shape of big crabs, which makes the crabs sing beautiful songs, which is also very interesting; some are made into the shape of leaves, which look very unique and beautiful. In particular, one ocarina is deliberately made into a broken pattern, as if it will break into thousands of small pottery pieces if you accidentally pinch it. I was really amazed by the variety of ocarinas.

After opening my eyes, Teacher Sun took out a green submarine-shaped ocarina for me to try, and Teacher Lai began to teach me how to play the ocarina.

"Press like this with your hands, that's right! Press it all the way and it will make a (duo) sound."

Teacher Lai demonstrated with his hands and taught me step by step. I played according to the teacher's instructions, but I always played wrong, which made me a little anxious.

"Because you didn't press it tightly! Don't worry, come again."

Teacher Lai seemed to see through my mind and comforted me. I tried pressing it many times, and finally the sound of (Duo) came out, and then the sounds of (?) and (Mi) came out. I learned (Duo) (?) (Mi) all at once. I can’t say how happy I am. Dad found the ocarina fun and came to learn it too. He learned it faster and learned it in no time (哆)(?)(Mi)(发)(妦)...

I want to buy an ocarina. I looked at this, then at that, the green one was good, the yellow one was not bad either, I couldn't put it down each one. In the end, I picked a purple one, which I thought was the prettiest. Dad chose a larger, cracked one with a darker tone and sounded better when played. At this time, Teacher Lai proposed to play the ocarina with Teacher Sun. The accompaniment sounded and they were immersed in the music, shaking their heads. I played one song after another, and the melody of the song was so beautiful that it went straight to my heart. After listening to this, I thought to myself: Teacher Lai and Teacher Sun are really amazing. They must have been trained through unremitting training. I also want to learn from them.

When I came back from Xiamen, I kept practicing music, at least 30 minutes a day, and I learned six or seven songs after practicing for a few days. I also learned how to play the ocarina in two tones. I have become proficient in playing songs such as "Heart to Heart", "Farewell", "Descendants of the Dragon", etc. I will continue to work hard in the future and strive to play more difficult songs.

The ocarina is really a cute little instrument. As Teacher Lai said, it is a musical elf. It also has many shapes, such as this and that; its tone can also change high or low, freely switching, which is very magical.
