Poems written by Zhu Yuanzhang

As we all know, Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, was the most humble emperor in the history of China. He was born in poverty and worked as a cattle herder for the landlord in his early years. A little longer, his parents died, and he entered Huang Jue Temple as a monk, during which he worked as a beggar for three years and wandered around. So what is certain is that Zhu Yuanzhang didn't go to school in his early years and didn't have much cultural knowledge.

But since Zhu Yuanzhang became commander-in-chief of the rebel army, he has been studying hard. Despite repeated battles and defeats, he still insisted on reading and writing without interruption every night. He often talks with some of his scholars about the history of Confucian classics and learns ways to stabilize the country and national security. After long-term unremitting efforts, his personal accomplishment, cultural quality, political theory, military talent and literary accomplishment have been continuously improved. Moreover, he can write poems and comment on them.

Zhu Yuanzhang wrote many poems and couplets in his life, but not many of them have been handed down, most of them are his improvisations. Although his literary talent is not very high, he can't compare with others, but his poems are heroic and domineering, which is by no means beyond the reach of ordinary scholars.

Zhu Yuanzhang's poems can always show extraordinary momentum in very simple language. There is a kind of courage in the poem, which is to admire the world, to submit to everything, to be the mainstay, and to give up who I am! Now I will choose a few of them for you to enjoy.

"Red Cliff Poetry" killed millions of soldiers in Jiangnan, and the sword around his waist was still bloody. The old monk doesn't know a hero, just ask his name. (Note: Mix, read xiāoxiāo, which means yelling and chattering. )

This poem was improvised by Zhu Yuanzhang when he moved to Jianghuai. On one occasion, he traveled in disguise and spent the night in a temple called Buluoan in Anhui. Seeing that he was a strange man, the abbot of the temple asked his name. Zhu Yuanzhang was impatient and wrote this poem on the wall. Poetry is straightforward and domineering. It not only wrote Zhu Yuanzhang's self-righteous arrogance at that time, but also expressed his future ambitions.

"Golden Rooster at Dawn" The cock crows once and pouts twice. Three calls for Fusang Day swept away the remnant star Xiao Yue.

This poem was improvised by Zhu Yuanzhang on the day he ascended the throne. It is said that on the day when Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne, there was a loud cock crow suddenly. Zhu Yuanzhang thought this was a very good omen, so he was full of poetry and improvised the first sentence: "The rooster crowed and pursed." The ministers felt that the language was too vulgar, but they were afraid to laugh, so they had to endure listening. Zhu Yuanzhang went on to sing the second sentence: "The rooster crows twice and pouts twice." Some ministers couldn't help it, and hurriedly turned their heads to cover their mouths and laugh. Zhu Yuanzhang looked at the reaction of ministers, but he didn't care. He continued to recite the third sentence: "Three calls for Fusang Day". As soon as this sentence came out, ministers could no longer laugh. Zhu Yuanzhang continued to read the fourth sentence, "Sweep away the remnant star Xiao Yue". Ministers were shocked and ashamed when they read this sentence.

Yan Ge Xing Loki Yan Ge Xing Loki is a weight, but what about the Yangtze River as a pole? The crescent moon on the horizon is a scale hook, weighing how many mountains and rivers I have.

This poem was improvised by Zhu Yuanzhang after he ascended the throne, when he led a hundred officials of civil and military forces to Yanziji to compete in poetry. The poem uses metaphors skillfully, expresses emotion through scenery, and has a grand artistic conception, expressing the domineering of the emperor in the world.
