How to remove a horizontal line in the middle of word text
I think everyone has encountered such a situation. There is a horizontal line in Word for no reason. It is strange that you can't delete it. Trying to enter text on it will automatically lower one line, which is really rare. You can't even choose this horizontal line. It is useless to select all the lines above and below the horizontal line and then delete them. They still exist. After studying all afternoon, I finally found a solution. After analysis, the reason for this horizontal line is either drawn or the horizontal line that appears after typing these three minus signs in word. Now that we know the reason, we can try the following solutions.
There are several possibilities for this situation:
First, this horizontal line is a drawn line, but it is not consistent with the description in this article. You can choose anything you draw. If this is the case, just select Delete directly.
Second, this horizontal line may have been automatically added by word. I wonder if my friends have noticed. If you type these three minus signs in word-and then press enter, a horizontal line will be automatically generated in the middle. This horizontal line is called the automatic boundary line. Here are some ways to delete automatic border lines.
There are three ways to deal with this situation:
1. If it is just generated, there will be a lightning symbol next to the horizontal line. At this time, if you click, "Undo Border Line" will appear. When selected, you can delete this horizontal line, and then you can select "Stop automatically creating border lines", so that this indelible horizontal line will not be generated again. As shown below. Or please directly Ctrl+Z to restore the previous operation.
2. If this horizontal line has been generated at this time, it cannot be cancelled in the lightning symbol. We can choose "Clear Format" at the top of a line on the horizontal line (the operation of word2007 is shown below). If it is word 2003, please go to Menu Format, Style, Format and select Clear Format. So the horizontal line in the next line has been deleted. The world is clean from now on! (important, be sure to operate on the line before the horizontal line)
3. There is another way. If there is no table in the file, it is very simple. Just press Ctrl+A to select the whole document, and then select "No Border" OK in the table border, and the world will be clean from now on. If there is a table, randomly select a part from the downward line of the horizontal line, and also select "borderless line" in the table border. If the horizontal line does not disappear and shift, Ctrl+Z will resume. If you re-select a part, it will be easy to find the place that has just been eliminated. Personally, I think this method is the simplest.
