Previous lives of textile fabrics-the formation of yarn
I am a textile person.
The clothes we wear, the curtains hanging on the wall, the sofa we sit on in the living room, the towels we use when taking a shower... It is no exaggeration to say that from the moment we are born to the day we leave, we are inseparable from fabrics (some people may immediately say: You can leave when you are naked in the shower, okay! I don’t agree with Talking nonsense).
For many of us, fabrics have been visible and tangible from the moment we were born. Maybe it's like air, maybe we're too accustomed to it, so we don't pay much attention to it, let alone understand it.
Textile fabrics have their past, present and next lives. Today let’s talk about its previous life!
The so-called textile, the simplest understanding is "spinning" and "weaving".
Then we naturally identify "spinning" as the previous life.
We regard fabric as a two-dimensional flat material, so its predecessor is a one-dimensional material yarn. A single strand (single strand) is yarn, and a double strand (double strand) or more is thread.
Natural fibers, single cotton, linen, silk and wool cannot be used directly for weaving. They must be spun on a spinning machine to become the yarn we use for weaving. So natural fiber spinning is the process of turning individual fibers into yarn.
As for man-made fibers, the raw material solution is usually directly turned into yarn through two spinning processes: melt spinning and solution spinning. Remove polyester, made from PTA melt spinning. Viscose, on the other hand, is spun from solution.
In order to make the style of the fabric richer, the yarn will also have its corresponding post-spinning process, thus producing a variety of yarns with different styles, such as: low stretch yarn, Network silk, twisted silk, fluffy and full chenille and various fancy yarns.
At this time, most of the yarns meet the requirements as weaving raw materials. Compared with warp yarns, the strength requirements of yarns are relatively good. Some yarns, such as chemical fiber yarns with smaller fineness, are added with network points through dot nets, and cotton yarns are processed through processes such as sizing or twisting.
If it is a yarn-dyed product, the yarn must first be dyed in a dyeing factory to become colored yarn. Yarn dyeing includes two types: package dyeing and skein dyeing.
At this point, the previous life of the fabric is about to end, and it will soon usher in a transformation from a chrysalis to a butterfly.
