What do you mean what happened to those things in the Ming Dynasty?

The last story of those events in Ming Dynasty is the story of the great traveler Xu Hongzu (Xu Xiake). Xu Jing, Xu Xiake's ancestor, was one of the protagonists in Tang Bohu's famous cheating case in the imperial examination in the middle of Ming Dynasty. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for allegedly buying examination questions. Since then, the Xu family has a tradition of not being an official, not taking exams, and not interacting with powerful people. Xu Hongzu and his father like to read extensively and travel to famous mountains and rivers.

This book describes Xu Xiake's last trip, mainly to the southwest of China. On the way, he met a Wen Jing Zen master from Nanjing. Zen master Wen Jing copied a scripture with his own blood and prepared to go to Jizu Mountain (where Ye Jia, the great disciple of Sakyamuni, practiced) to support his practice. As a result, on the way, just after crossing the Xiangjiang River, he was injured by bandits, and Master Wen Jing died of his injuries. Before he died, he asked Xu Xiake to take his ashes to Jizu Mountain to make a wish. Xu Xiake went through a lot of hardships to put the ashes in Jizu Mountain, fulfilling Master Wen Jing's last wish.

During this trip, Xu Xiake proved that Jinsha River is the main stream of the Yangtze River, and made the first survey of limestone caves in the world, and made a comprehensive survey of the geography of southwest China, making an epoch-making contribution to geography. Xu Xiake's Travels, a note written by him during his decades of travel, is a masterpiece of China's geography that transcends the ancients and reflects future generations.

What happened in the Ming dynasty ended with this story, telling us that even in the feudal society where the imperial examination was bigger than the sky in the Ming dynasty, there was more than one road to success. The greatest success was to live the life you wanted with your own living method.
