Interview Review of Fangsuo Bookstore丨What is it like to be a clerk in Fangsuo Bookstore?

Everyone who likes reading probably has a dream of opening a bookstore.

If you can't open a bookstore, then it would be good to be a bookstore clerk.

Don’t do a job you don’t like, have no scheming interpersonal relationships, and wander in the sea of ??books every day. When you are busy, you organize books and serve customers. When you are not busy, you read quietly. I feel very happy just thinking about it. .

But is working in a bookstore really as relaxing and beautiful as we imagine?

Some time ago, with my love for books and curiosity about the retail industry, I submitted my resume for the position of Fangsuo Library Specialist and participated in the interview.

Perhaps my interview experience can give you a glimpse into a bookstore and help you realize whether this position is suitable for you.

In terms of job requirements, the biggest feeling given to me by Fang Suo is that he is professional.

First is the resume.

Fang Suo’s resume is very different from those outside. In addition to regular personal information, academic information, employment experience, etc., Fangsuo will also have a questionnaire to assess your reading status. There are many questions on it, such as:

"List the books you have read. , write it down according to the categories of literary works, art, design, business, etc.";

"Tell me about your favorite cultural magazine and briefly describe the reasons";

"Choose any two For this book, write a 20-50 word recommendation for each book and place it next to the book for users to refer to for reading and purchasing."

The second is the interviewer’s questions.

During the interview, they will ask a lot of questions about your reading status and ask for your opinion. It can be said that they attach great importance to the reading status of employees.

Once again, it is their job requirement.

After understanding your reading situation, the interviewer will begin to introduce the specific job requirements of the library specialist.

Perhaps in most people’s minds, a library specialist is someone who organizes books, puts them on and off the shelves, and helps passers-by answer their questions.

However, in Fangsuo, no!

Fangsuo has very high requirements for its clerks.

In addition to regular work such as organizing books, loading and unloading books, store clerks also need to perform book listing, book introduction, etc.

Book listing means that the area you are responsible for The way your books are listed is entirely up to you. No matter if you go by theme, time, or any other way, Fangsuo will not get involved.

But, you have to ensure the sales of your books!

In other words, the way you list your books must be the most conducive to book sales!

Book introduction means that no matter what book a customer comes to ask you about, you can briefly introduce it and give your opinions or suggestions.

When you are promoted, your leaders will ask you to show your book list and randomly select a book for you to give a brief introduction.

Although Fang Suo has high requirements for its clerks, don’t worry, their wages are very low.

Although the recruitment information says 2.5k-3k, if you have no relevant experience, the basic salary is only 2.5k. Even if you add commission (monthly sales commission for the entire store), it will be no more than 2.5k. Only 3k.

Then, after excluding the five insurances and one fund paid (yes, there are five insurances and one fund), my god, I may not even get 2k.

Of course, this salary is not just as low as Fang Suocai's. Other bookstores, such as Sisyphus and Yanji, also have this salary level, and they still don't have one gold.

So it can be said that wages in the entire industry are very low.

(PS:

I really can’t help it, I want to complain so much!

I have some opinions on the various salaries in today’s society.

Nowadays, the salary gap between positions is too big, which leads many people to do jobs that they are not interested in at all for profit, leading to a blind and unhappy life.

If the wages of different positions are similar, then everyone can freely choose the job they want to do, everyone's happiness level may be greatly improved, and the entire society will be more energetic. And energy. )

Although the work of store clerks is tiring and the wages are low, I believe that there will be some friends who are not determined to give up and want to see what the future is like. They think: If the future is good, then just persist silently. ,Bear.

In fact, the development prospects of Fangsuo's clerks can be divided into two types: internal development and external development.

Internal development means development within Fangsuo. You can choose management or business. Management refers to the management level, and business is still related to the store staff.

Generally speaking, of course the management is better. However, according to relevant sources, the management of Fangsuo are all from Taiwan, so they will not give mainlanders much room for development.

For external development, it usually involves changing jobs to other stores. Because Fangsuo has very high requirements for store clerks, if you are a team leader at Fangsuo, then there should be no problem in becoming a store manager in another bookstore.

Okay, that’s what I want to introduce.

Generally speaking, the bookstore clerks at Fangsuo are quite training. If you want to work in the book or retail industry and don’t have any pressure in life, then it is good to work at Fangsuo. If you want to change jobs in the future, I believe other companies will also have good development.

But!

If you have your own life pressure, or you just want to come because you think the bookstore clerk is artistic, then you’d better not come. One is because bookstore clerks are essentially no different from supermarket waiters. They are extremely tired and have no artistic qualities at all. The other is because the wages of bookstore clerks are really too low and it is difficult to support themselves.

Wandering abroad, survival is important!

I’m not going anyway~
