Soldiers should face the reality of returning to society after retirement. There are generally two situations in which retired soldiers retire. One is self-employment, but the government arranges work.

Article 29 of the Regulations on Resettlement of Retired Soldiers, which came into effect on 2011,stipulates that retired soldiers who meet one of the following conditions shall be arranged by the people's government:

1. years of active service of noncommissioned officers 12 years.

2. During the period of service, you will receive a prize above Class II in peacetime or a prize above Class III in wartime.

3. The assessment of disability due to war is 5 to 8.

Non-commissioned officers who have served in active service for 12 years and choose to change jobs shall be arranged by the people's government. The unit undertaking the task of arranging retired soldiers shall complete the task of arranging retired soldiers on time according to the assessment scores of retired soldiers' files, and arrange retired soldiers to take up their posts within 1 month after the letter of introduction is issued by the competent department of resettlement of retired soldiers.

Retired soldiers who are arranged by the government are workers when they choose a job placement unit. From the date when the staff recruitment card plan is issued by the preparation department, it is the official employee status without probation. However, people recruited from ordinary social channels can only become full members after a one-year probation period. Therefore, retired soldiers arranged by the government are regular workers when they go to work, and there is no probation period.
