There were a large number of Yimeng people in the most powerful troops of Sanye and Ye Si during the War of Liberation.

When going south, a large number of cadres were transferred from the old Yimeng area to work in the southeast provinces. Supposedly, they fought the most and the best battles, laid the foundation of China's army, deployed the most cadres, and all worked in developed provinces and cities in southeast China, which provided the best opportunity for the success of Yimeng Mountain. Surprisingly, so many Yimeng people who joined the army to participate in the revolutionary work before 1949 did not produce a provincial party secretary, governor and general, similar to the old revolutionary base area of Jinggangshan-54 generals in Xingguo, Jiangxi, 46 generals in Ji 'an, 4 generals in Yongxin, 52 generals in Pingjiang, Hunan, 30 generals in Liuyang and Hubei, the old revolutionary base area of Dabie Mountain. There is only one county in Qingjian, an old revolutionary area in northern Shaanxi. According to 1985 incomplete statistics, there are 62 cadres at or above the provincial or ministerial level. Compared with other old revolutionary base areas where Gao Qian gathers and stars shine, Yimeng old revolutionary base area is special without Gao Qian and General. As far as I know, the only Linyi people who took part in the revolution before 1949 were Li Zichao and Yinan, who served as the chairmen of the Shandong Provincial Political Consultative Conference.
