Popularizing eco-agriculture can not only make full and rational use of natural resources and effectively improve agricultural productivity, but also protect the agricultural ecological environment and promote the formation of a virtuous circle, thus obtaining the comprehensive effects of production development, ecological environment protection, energy recycling and economic benefits. China established its country by agriculture since ancient times, and has left many fine traditions and production experiences in the history of agricultural production, many of which are in line with the principles of ecological agriculture. Such as intensive cultivation, through crop rotation, intercropping and interplanting to increase yield; Make full use of land, apply farm manure, plant green manure and combine land with soil; Recycling, low energy consumption; Mainly planting, combining agriculture and animal husbandry; Make full use of natural energy such as solar energy, wind energy and water energy to improve production conditions; Focus on biological control, control pests and diseases. All these provide favorable conditions for the establishment of Chinese-style ecological agriculture.

In the early 1980s, in view of the worsening trend of agricultural ecological environment and natural conditions, on the basis of summing up the experience and lessons of agricultural development at home and abroad, combined with the national conditions of China's primary stage of socialism, the development path of building China's ecological agriculture was put forward, and a large number of theoretical studies and pilot demonstration projects were carried out. Liu Min Village, Daxing District, Beijing took the lead in the experiment of ecological agriculture construction. Nowadays, the construction of eco-agriculture has developed from eco-agricultural households, villages (fields) and townships to large agricultural counties. There are more than 2,000 eco-agricultural pilot counties in China, including about 300 eco-agricultural pilot demonstration counties, covering 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.
