Can you tell us your own unique local folk stories? (such as anecdotes in Tianjin and Changsha)
"Baby, baby, don't cry, you have your uncle Wang!" This is a folk song circulating on the east coast of Gu Feng in Wuqing. This folk song has a touching story. Fenghe River is an ancient river course in Wuqing, with narrow river course and large drop. Floods often occur in flood season, and villagers on both sides of the strait suffer greatly. Five years after Qianlong, villagers on both sides of the strait donated money to repair the dike, which is called "Mindi". In September of the 20th year of Jiaqing (18 15), in order to ensure the safety of counties (now Chengguan Town), the court ordered the demolition of the Year of the Eastern Emperor. Dozens of villages and fields in Hedong were flooded. Since then, the East Dike has not been repaired, and the Hedong area has been flooded almost every year. In the third year of Guangxu (1877), floods broke out again in Fenghe River. Because after the official dike was demolished, the flood flooded Hedong instead of Hexi, and the villagers in Hedong were very angry, so they gathered together and secretly opened a dike on the west side of Fenghe River. After Hexi people discovered it, they quickly assembled thousands of people to confront Hedong people, and the war was on the verge. During the stalemate, Hexi people sued the capital directly, and asked Li Tongren, a local scholar who was an official in the DPRK, to come forward and ordered Wuqing County to severely punish those who broke the embankment. The magistrate of a county immediately sent people to Hedong villages to arrest people. Seeing that Hedong people were arrested one after another, the village and the street discussed countermeasures together. Later, it was suggested that some prominent people should also come forward. They thought of Wang Liguo in Shuang Bao and entrusted Lu Xiucai and others in Liu Zhuang to invite them. Wang, whose real name is from Baoshizhuang, Hexi Town. Born in Daoguang for three years (1823), Guo Jianren. In the Ming Dynasty, his ancestors had five generations of hereditary Royal Guards as commanders. After entering the Qing Dynasty, there were four more civil and military scholars, seven of whom were appointed as magistrates, magistrates and magistrates. His father, Wang Qing, is a scholar in your branch of Daoguang (1833). It was edited by the Hanlin Academy, revised by daily life notes, and discussed by river works. Later, it was named Guanglu Temple. Wang is a famous local squire, who is generous with money and charitable. After listening to the reason, Wang said, "My father has passed away, and I don't deserve to be famous. I'm afraid what I'm asking is hard to do. " After repeated entreaties, Wang Liguo agreed. After Wang was entrusted, he immediately rushed to Beijing to meet Li Hongzhang, the governor of Zhili, and asked him to come forward to calm the matter, and asked the court to allocate funds to build the Phoenix River embankment. Li Hongzhang and Wang's father work together in imperial academy and have a deep friendship. Hearing this, Wang was deeply sympathetic and related to the well-being of people on both sides of the Fenghe River, so he took the matter to court. Soon, the emperor issued a decree: "build the east dike of Fenghe River, and raise money and materials by itself." Wang was ordered to come to the county government, and Mao, then the magistrate of Wuqing County, wanted to help him, so he released all the villagers he had caught. Also, several prestigious township sages were selected from the villages on both sides of the Fenghe River to discuss with Wang Ligui about repairing the dike. Finally, it was agreed that the two sides of the strait should bury the hatchet and repair the embankment by their own funds. Wang called representatives of Hedong villages to negotiate. Everyone elected him as the general supervisor and shared the fund-raising task of each village. After a period of preparation, construction began after that autumn. Wang Ligui, who is in his fifties, works hard, runs around the clock and often eats and lives on the construction site. The newly-built East Embankment starts from Nianyugou in Tongxian County in the north and ends at Da Nangong in Dongpuwa in the south. Just halfway through the project, donations were used up. In order not to give up halfway, Wang sold his real estate and land industry, and all the proceeds were donated to the dike repair project. Xiaoli Cihang zenrinji was infected by it and donated again. After months of hard work, the 60-mile-long Fenghe East Dike project was finally completed. Due to overwork, Wang fell ill in bed soon after the project was completed. And his righteous act was also reported to the court by governments at all levels. Impressed by Wang's loyalty, the imperial court ordered him to be an official of Guangdong Customs. But when the imperial edict arrived at Baoshizhuang, Wang Liguo was already dying. After the imperial edict was read, he died suddenly. On the day of the funeral, the officials and the masses who saw me off lined up for miles. In the 20th year of Guangxu (1894), Li Hongzhang passed by Hexi Wu in the south and specially summoned Wang Shoutong, the eldest son of Wang, at the post office of Chaoyang Temple (now Hexi Wu Middle School) to remember the past and comfort him. After the founding of New China, the Ministry of Water Resources visited several times and asked the descendants of the Wangs about Wang Yixiu's east dike. Known as the "richest man in Hexi affairs", the Wang family has lost money because of donating money to repair the east dike of Fenghe River. Three of Wang's five sons were forced to move to Chengguan, Hexi and other places to make a living on the only sparse fields. The descendants of Baoshizhuang were also classified as famous poor peasants in the land reform. Fenghe Dam has been built for 130 years. Although there were frequent floods during this period, there were few major disasters. Every flood season, when the old people at home coax their children, they always say, "Baby, baby, don't cry, you are Uncle Wang!" " This folk song is accompanied by the surging Phoenix River and has been passed down to this day. Nowadays, the flood in Fenghe River has been completely eradicated, and people on both sides of the strait have no worries about floods. The reinforced and widened Fenghe levee stands quietly on both sides of the Fenghe River, witnessing the increasingly affluent and peaceful life of people on both sides.
