The origin of the name of Wangjing

The name of Wangjing comes from four sources, namely:

1, recorded in Yu Minzhong's Textual Research on Old Stories of Sun in Qing Dynasty and Wu Changyuan's Brief Introduction to Chen Yuan. There are even more historical documents. As early as the Liao Dynasty, there was a Wangjing Pavilion 20 miles northeast of Youzhou.

Youzhou, the predecessor of Beijing today, is located slightly west of today. Dawangjing Village, just outside Dongzhimen, is in 15, and also in the northeast of Beijing, so it is completely consistent with the literature.

Wangjing Pavilion, also known as Wangjing Post Station, means today's guest house and reception desk. It is a place for foreign envoys and businessmen from all over the world to stay and eat in and out of Beijing.

2. The origin of Wangjing is also recorded in Meng Qian Bi Tan by Shen Kuo, a scientist in the Northern Song Dynasty. In the northeast of Kyoto, there is a Wangjing Wharf. Shen Kuo lived more than 900 years ago. According to this calculation, the existence of Wangjing Pier is at least the same as that of Shen Kuo, or even earlier. This shows that Wangjing place names have a long history.

3. The river that flowed through the village from southwest to northeast during the Qianlong period was originally an ancient road, which was the only way for the royal family and dignitaries of the Qing Dynasty to travel from Beijing to chengde mountain resort.

The terrain in the north of the village is unique. The mountain in the middle is like a dragon, and there are mounds on both sides. Gan Long boarded Jeremy goldkorn, overlooking the direction of Beijing, and the tower of Dongzhimen was faintly visible. So, Longxin was so happy that he officially named the village Wangjing.

During the Song and Liao Dynasties, there were many fierce battles in the suburbs. The troops entering the customs from Heishui and Songliao Plain in the northeast competed for land with the troops in Jiangnan water town, fighting to the death.

Soldiers are in a foreign land, and they miss their relatives in their hometown very much, so they climb high and look far. I only heard a loud cry: Look, I see the capital.

For a time, the name of Wangjing was born and has been circulated for more than 900 years today.

Extended data:

Before the Ming Dynasty, Wangjing was just a village. By the end of the Ming Dynasty, Wangjing village was divided into large and small villages. The two villages are separated by a small river, with Dawangjing Village in the east and Xiaoweijing Village in the west.

By the 1990s, the permanent population of Dawangjing Village was nearly 2,000, with more than 440 households. Xiaowujing village has more than 700 people and more than 300 households.

Although people in Wangjing Village know almost nothing about Wangjing Wharf, when it comes to the origin of Wangjing, the villagers have a classic saying: Wangjing is here.

The first place called Wangjing is today's Dawangjing Village and Xiaoweijing Village, which are close to Jingshun Road and not in the core area of Wangjing area of real estate concept.

The old people in Wangjing Village said that in those days, Emperor Qianlong went to the summer resort and passed by this village. When he stopped to have a rest, he turned around and saw Dongzhimen, and immediately named this place Wangjing.

Before liberation, Wangjing Village was the largest village around, with the largest land and population under its jurisdiction. There is a Guandi Temple in the village. There is a clay statue of Guan Yunchang in the temple, and it is said that there is also a statue of the heavenly king, which is lifelike. The main body of the hall is a wooden structure, which is tall and majestic.

After the Cultural Revolution, the statue of this temple was destroyed and the main hall was changed to Dajingjing Primary School. Later, due to disrepair, the primary school was demolished when rebuilding the school building.

From the founding of the People's Republic of China to the end of 1990s, Dawangjing Primary School has trained many good students with limited teaching level and conditions, and has become the only primary school in the village that can send students to key middle schools.
