Zhuge Bagua Village of Lanxi

Last year, my parents and I went to the "Zhuge Bagua Village" in Lanxi.

The village pattern of Zhuge Bagua Village in Lanxi is built according to the pattern of Jiugong Bagua. The overall layout is centered on the village clock pool. The houses in the village are arranged in a radioactive way, and eight alleys extend outward, dividing the village into eight pieces. The alleys in the village seem to be interlinked, connected and mysterious. Zhuge Bagua Village is surrounded by eight hills, which seem to be connected and arranged in eight directions of Bagua, naturally forming the outer Bagua of the sanitation mountain village. It is said that it is precisely because of the protection of these eight hills that this village has preserved more than 50 ancient buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, all of which are carved with beams and painted with exquisite construction techniques.

We walked into the Prime Minister's Ancestral Temple, which is the first scenic spot we visited. It has a unique zigzag structure. Hui's big mouth is supported by four blue stone pillars, which is a bit strange. Because the columns of buildings in Ming and Qing dynasties are mostly wood, which also affects the appearance. Later, after listening to the tour guide, I realized that the wooden pillar outside was easy to rot because it was wet and rainy in the south, but it was impossible to cut such a large stone pillar in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, so this stone pillar was installed during the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. After talking about the word "mouth", let's talk about the word "mouth" inside. The word "Kou" is composed of four kinds of trees with similar thickness: pine, cypress, paulownia and Toona sinensis, which homonymously expresses the wishes of Zhuge's ancestors to their descendants for "pine and cypress in the same spring". Go up, and the woodcarving "Crossing the Sea" of the Eight Immortals will appear in front of you. The exquisite craftsmanship and vivid image of the Eight Immortals in Dongyang woodcarving are intoxicating.

The second scenic spot is Dagongtang. Located opposite to the clock pool designed with the fish-shaped Taiji diagram as the prototype. The Book of Commandments is written on the main wall of Sanjin Hall of Dagong Hall. It was Zhuge Liang who warned his son to cherish time, study hard and achieve something. Although the famous saying "not indifferent, not clear, not quiet, not far away" has long been familiar, it has a particularly cordial feeling to read at the moment. Further on, I came to a huge hall filled with exquisite Chinese herbal medicine specimen cabinets. I carefully looked at them one by one, and there were even minerals and various animals in them, such as medicinal magnets and large yellow croaker. It's the first time I heard that these things can also be used as medicine.

The third scenic spot is the garden villa at the highest point of Zhuge Bagua Village. There are many kinds of Chinese herbal medicines in this garden. Looking down from here, the whole village has a panoramic view. The typical Huizhou ancient architecture "fat beam, fat column, horse head wall, blue brick boudoir" made my eyes shine; From here, many black roofs are stacked like waves, which is very beautiful.

The last scenic spot we visited was an ancient street. It is said that this street used to be full of Chinese medicine shops, and many doctors in Zhuge treated people here, and they didn't know whether the treatment was good or bad. Now this street is full of souvenir shops.

Although today, with the vigorous development of tourism, the originally quiet Lanxi Zhuge Bagua Village has become a lively tourist attraction, this village with a long history still retains its original simplicity and beauty.
