Causes of proctoptosis in puppies

Hello! There are three main reasons for dog proctoptosis:

First, the stool is too dry and hard, which makes it very difficult for dogs to defecate, thus causing proctoptosis.

Second, anal sphincter relaxation or anal dysplasia leads to proctoptosis.

Third, long-term severe diarrhea leads to proctoptosis. Dogs with rectocele should be sent to a pet hospital for treatment immediately.

■ When a puppy has rectocele, the owner must first ensure its normal diet. Nutrition can keep up with the body to recover faster. Then, the owner needs to help the puppy clean the rectal area with warm salt water every day, and at the same time apply hemorrhoid cream and give the puppy anti-inflammatory drugs. However, if the puppy is seriously rectocele, or the treatment is ineffective after one week, it is recommended that the owner send the puppy to the hospital for treatment.

1, normal diet

When the puppy has rectocele, the owner should also ensure that the puppy eats normally. If the puppy doesn't eat, the nutrition can't keep up, and the body is more difficult to recover. At the same time, due to poor health, the puppy's immunity will decline, so the owner had better feed the puppy some nutritious and digestible foods, such as minced meat porridge and small fish porridge.

2, disinfection medication

The owner can clean the rectum of the puppy with warm salt water every day, which is also a disinfection process. When washing each time, add a proper amount of salt to warm water and soak the rectal part of the puppy in water until the water gets cold. After soaking, dip a cotton swab in hemorrhoid ointment and gently apply it to the anus of the puppy for treatment.

Step 3 take anti-inflammatory drugs

Puppies with rectocele should take anti-inflammatory drugs at the same time after taking drugs in vitro for about a week. A week later, the puppy's rectocele can basically be cured. However, if the puppy's proctoptosis is serious, or it doesn't work after treatment, the owner had better take the puppy to the pet hospital for comprehensive and systematic treatment.
