Kongming lantern, also known as sky lantern, commonly known as wishing lantern and praying sky lantern, is an ancient Han handicraft.

In ancient times, Kongming lanterns were mostly used for military purposes. Modern people put lanterns on Kongming lanterns, which are mostly used for blessing. Men, women and children personally write down their wishes of blessing, symbolizing the success of harvest and happiness every year.

Kongming lanterns are usually displayed on major festivals such as Lantern Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.
