What is the purpose of having children?

Having more children and grandchildren is definitely a good thing. Having more children means more blessings.

Let’s not talk about things like continuing the family line, but just talk about the benefits of having more children and a prosperous family, at least in our generation.

If I were the only child in our generation, my parents in their 80s would have died long ago without anyone to take care of them.

If my wife had only one child in her family, her parents would not live to be over 90 years old because there would be no one to take care of them.

Why do you say that?

Because once the elderly reach the age of 80, most of them have underlying diseases. At least they have to go to the hospital several times a year, and at most they have to go to the hospital every month. Just imagine, if you only have one child, Even if they are local and close by, how can they take care of them?

Not to mention that quite a few children are in other places, provinces or even abroad.

Our next generation is basically an only child. My daughter is also developing abroad now. It’s hard to imagine what we can do when we get old, besides entering a nursing home.

We responded to the national policy and could only have one child, and suffered the consequences of the policy. Now the policy is good and we can have multiple children, but many young people refuse to have two children for various reasons because of the current difficulties. One or three children, I really don’t know how they will face being childless decades later if something unexpected happens.

So, I still advise young people to have more children if possible, create conditions if not, and at least have two children to overcome difficulties.
