She is a big family in Jiangnan. She is a young high flyers of Peking University, but she has devoted most of her life to guarding Cave 735 in the desert. People affectionately call her "the daughter of Dunhuang", but she says, I really want to leave. However, at every crossroads in life, she chose to persist.

My Heart is in Dunhuang is an autobiography written by Peking University Gu Chunfang and dictated by Fan Jinshi. After reading it, I was deeply moved by this seemingly weak old man. In her seemingly weak body, it is pregnant with great energy. While full of emotion and respect, I yearn for Dunhuang more!

Teacher Fan 1963 graduated from the Department of Archaeology of Peking University and was assigned to Dunhuang. In fact, when she was an intern, she had been to Dunhuang. After that, she took root in Dunhuang, took over the baton of the older generation in Dunhuang, overcame the harsh conditions and difficulties that ordinary people could not bear, and devoted herself to Dunhuang work for decades. It can be said that she devoted her life to Dunhuang. Along the way, she and her lover, Teacher Peng, have lived apart for nearly 20 years. Finally, Lao Peng came to Dunhuang from Wuhan University in the 1980s, and the family was really reunited.

When she first arrived in Dunhuang, she also thought about leaving. She also complained that Peking University seemed to have forgotten her. However, in the end, her inner strength made her take root in Dunhuang, chose to stick to it and chose an extraordinary life.

Therefore, in this life, people don't have to think all the time, and they don't have to look high. It's great to choose one thing and die.

Second, keep pace with the times and boldly implement Dunhuang digitalization.

With the change of time, Dunhuang murals and painted sculptures are deteriorating, which makes Fan Jinshi anxious. Is there any way to keep these precious information forever and use it forever? Since 1990s, Mr. Fan has boldly set out to establish "Digital Dunhuang": first, to build a digital Dunhuang mural information base; The second is to find ways to process grottoes, murals, painted sculptures and all cultural relics related to Dunhuang into advanced intelligent digital images, so that Dunhuang art can go out of the Mogao Grottoes and let tourists "see the cave outside".

Dunhuang, which has been digitized, has now embarked on the road of scientific protection. These are roads that no one has ever taken before. No wonder Ji Xianlin, an academic master, highly praised Fan Jinshi at the centennial celebration of Dunhuang in 2000. He used a word: infinite merit.

Third, do not forget our predecessors and carry forward the past.

Although the country has given Teacher Fan many honors, she is never proud or forgetful. She has always said that her achievements can not be separated from the contribution of director Chang Shuhong, the patron saint of Dunhuang, and from the contributions of the older generation and generations of workers in Dunhuang. What a humble spirit and state this is!

Now, although Lao Peng has passed away, Teacher Fan still misses him every day, but at the age of 84, she is still working for Dunhuang, leading the team to study and working hard against time.
