Basongcuo Lake in Linzhi (also known as Basongcuo)

Cuogao Lake is located in Cuogao Township, Gongbujiangda County, Linzhi District, with glacial lake as the anchor.

It is more than 300 kilometers away from Lhasa in the west and 20 kilometers away from Sichuan-Tibet Highway in the south. Basongcuo is surrounded by mountains and has a pleasant climate.

Mild, with an average altitude of more than 4000 meters. The mountains are covered with snow and there is a lot of vegetation below.

Birds and beasts haunt the forest, forming a unique and beautiful environment. Basongcuo is about18km long.

The average width is about 1.5km, the lake area is 28km2, and the deepest part can reach 120m.

There are more than 2,000 square meters of central island in the lake, and Cuosong Temple, an ancient temple of Ma Ning School.

Every year, many believers make a special pilgrimage to the lake. The lake is green and it doesn't freeze in winter. Flocks of wild ducks and black-necked cranes often swim and play on the lake. There is an island in the middle of the lake called Tashi Island. There is a temple in Tashi Island called Cuochong Gongba (Gongba means "temple" in Tibetan). Believers can go to the temple by canoe and make a wish. Cuogao Lake is surrounded by mountains, with extremely rich forest resources and dazzling flowers and trees. With the ups and downs of the mountain and the change of height, the distribution of plants is obviously different, such as Xuefeng, evergreen pine and cypress. Mushrooms, auricularia and Hericium erinaceus are produced here in summer. Spring has come, and the mountains are full of brilliant peach blossoms and azaleas, which are in harmony with the lake and feel like a paradise. At present, Cuogao Lake Tourist Resort has been built here, which can receive tourists from all sides.
