There are two battles in the film that impressed me the most.

However, I think "On Taihang Mountain" is not only a war film of blood and fire, but also a military film full of wisdom and strategy. There is a plot in the film: the Japanese army frantically searched for the whereabouts of Zhu De and others in a village, but before that, Commander-in-Chief Zhu had ordered everyone to evacuate. The brutal Japanese army gathered all the people in the village, locked them in a house and ordered them to go as long as they told us where the Eighth Route Army was. However, no one made a sound. The Japanese general was so angry that he ordered that gas bombs be dropped into the house. All the villagers in the house are dead, but no one wants to give in. At this time, Commander-in-Chief Zhu was hiding in a place not far from the village. Seeing that the villagers suffered for themselves, he was heartbroken and asked the correspondent to get in touch with the headquarters and ask for support. The soldiers around him kept reminding him that doing so might expose their hidden position, but the commander-in-chief still insisted on saving the suffering people. At this critical moment, a soldier came out to contact the headquarters in Ming language (that is, Russian) and successfully told the other party the news. The Japanese who eavesdropped were at a loss as to what they were talking about. It's really gratifying to see the Japanese generals frustrated and helpless! Later, the Eighth Route Army support troops arrived and successfully rescued all the villagers.

In sharp contrast, it is the brutality of the Japanese army. Japanese general Abe Tingxiu oppressed the soldiers who fled after being captured by the Eighth Route Army. The semi-naked Japanese soldiers cried and shouted, "What's wrong with me? I just don't want to fight. I’m going home. The Eighth Route Army won't kill me, but our own people will kill me. Your Majesty, the imperial army will fail! " Then jump into the fire, and the image of Japanese naked soldiers struggling in the fire is very intriguing.

As the saying goes, "He who wins the hearts of the people wins the world". No wonder the Eighth Route Army won the final victory because it loves the people so much.

When Zhu De admonished the commanders and soldiers after the Ping-Ping Pass, he said, "This is the heaviest blow to the Japanese invaders since the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895.
